THERAPY FOR ADULTS WITH ANXIETY IN NYC & PHILADELPHIA

CALM THE NOISE AND FIGURE OUT WHY IT’S THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Online therapy for anxiety, relationships, and perinatal mental health in NY &
PA.

YOU FEEL STUCK IN ALL YOUR WORRIES.

YOU WANT TO START A FAMILY - AND YOU’RE SCARED.

YOU ARE PREGNANT AND STRESSED OUT MORE THAN YOU’D LIKE TO BE.

YOU HAVE A NEW BABY AND CAN’T SEEM TO SHAKE BEING “ON EDGE” ALL THE TIME.

YOU’VE EXPERIENCED A MISCARRIAGE OR OTHER PREGNANCY LOSS AND ARE STILL GRIEVING,
EVEN THOUGH OTHERS WANT YOU TO MOVE ON.

YOU’RE FINALLY PREGNANT AFTER A LOSS, BUT YOUR ANXIETY IS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH.

YOU WANT MORE PEACE AND CALM IN YOUR INTERCULTURAL RELATIONSHIP. YOU HAVE SOME
EXPLORING TO DO OF YOUR OWN IDENTITY TO MAKE IT WORK.

Anxiety about ourselves and our relationships can be extremely challenging. I am
a therapist with 5+ years of experience in the mental health field working with
people around the big issues that create a lot of worry in their everyday lives.
I have worked in private practice, community mental health, schools, and in arts
after-school programs. I help people identify what their anxiety is all about,
explore how and why it has developed, and learn tools to reduce anxiety.

AMANDA BORSON, LCSW

AS A LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER, I PROVIDE ONLINE THERAPY TO ADULTS IN NYC
AND PHILADELPHIA, AS WELL AS OTHER RESIDENTS ACROSS THOSE STATES. I HAVE WORKED
WITH PEOPLE AROUND MANY ISSUES AND PROBLEMS, BUT MY PASSION IS HELPING PEOPLE
WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH ANXIETY AROUND THE “BIG” TRANSITIONAL MOMENTS IN LIFE.

I have always been curious about the stories we tell ourselves about who we are
and why. It’s often those messages that get in our way, making us feel worried,
lost, tense, or panicked.

I specialize in perinatal mental health, including infertility, pregnancy,
postpartum anxiety and depression, pregnancy loss and pregnancy after loss. I
also love helping individuals and couples in interracial or intercultural
relationships better understand their own selves so they can show up fully for
their partners.

As a therapist, I explore with you how your own coming-of-age story,
relationships and systems you interact with influence your mental health, so
that you can understand more of what is going on and figure out how you can feel
better and thrive.

No matter why you’re coming to therapy, I can help you uncover why you’re so
anxious, build curiosity around what is holding you back, and teach you skills
to live with more ease and calm.

THERAPY DURING PREGNANCY, POSTPARTUM, & LOSS IN NYC & PHILADELPHIA, PA

YOU’RE STARTING A FAMILY - AND YOU’RE SCARED.

You’ve been trying to get pregnant and never imagined you would have to walk
through the doors of a fertility clinic. Parenthood scares you to begin with, so
having to do these injections does not make it easier. Or, you’re finally
pregnant, but your anxiety about pregnancy and those looming conversations with
your partner about balancing it all keeps you up at night. Maybe you’ve
experienced a miscarriage and you’re nervous to try again. Therapy can help you
cope with the wide spectrum of experiences of this transformational period.

 * THERAPY DURING PREGNANCY

Pregnancy creates so much change in just nine months, and therapy during
pregnancy can assist in processing the transformation to your identity, body,
relationships, and help you cope with stressors around becoming a parent.

 * THERAPY FOR POSTPARTUM ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

Asking for what you need with a newborn can feel impossible. Sometimes you
feel most anxious early on in those first few months, but others feel
especially worn out after 7-8 months. Therapy for postpartum anxiety and
depression validates what YOU need and helps you to better ask for it.

 * THERAPY FOR INFERTILITY

Are you angry, anxious, and exhausted by the process of fertility treatments?
Perhaps you’re feeling nervous about engaging with the medical processes
required for IVF. Learn about how therapy for infertility can help you move
through the big emotions that come up during this time.

 * THERAPY AFTER MISCARRIAGE & PREGNANCY LOSS

You’ve experienced a loss, either early or late in your pregnancy. You’re not
getting the support you need from your family and friends. Therapy after
miscarriage & pregnancy loss offers you time and space to grieve.

 * THERAPY FOR PREGNANCY AFTER LOSS

Anxiety, joy, disconnection - those are some of the emotions that someone who
is pregnant after a loss may feel. Therapy for pregnancy after loss gives you
permission to feel all those emotions all at once.

 * PERINATAL THERAPY FOR LGBTQIA+ INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES

This period can be especially difficult for LGBTQIA+ folks who might be
requiring more intervention for their pregnancies, and for trans and GNC
individuals who are potentially experiencing heightened stress around what
can be a typically hetero cis normative process. Perinatal therapy for
LGBTQIA+ people can offer space to process your specific experience of this
   time.

 * THERAPY FOR THE PARTNER

You need your own support in order to show up for your partner. Navigating
your new identity as a parent without the direct physical experience of
pregnancy can be complex. Therapy for the partner of the pregnant person can
help make sense of your experience in your own space.

 * PERINATAL-FOCUSED COUPLES THERAPY

Pregnancy and postpartum issues can totally change a relationship, and yet
continuing to try to connect to your partner during this time of transition
can be helpful in reducing the stress. Couples therapy will allow you to
intentionally identify and work on issues in your relationship that are
cropping up during this unique time.
