We believe every life deserves a sacred moment when family and friends gather to remember. A service provides a natural time and place for us to think about the moments we shared with our loved one and to share those memories with those remaining. How we say goodbye reminds us what is most important in our lives. Every life matters and is worth acknowledging and honouring in a special way. It’s become common practice to conduct unattended cremations in place of funerals. This may leave family and friends with unexpressed grief. Holding a memorial service gives them an opportunity to say goodbye, connect with others and remember that life goes on. This can be overwhelming but with our guidance and support, we will help lessen your stress and empower you to craft a unique experience that you’ll always remember. Let us introduce ourselves… We are a passionate couple who value life and the loved ones who enrich it. We’re reminded every day that everyone’s unique life story is worth recording and celebrating. His expression had a not-so-subtle meaning and it’s the title for my book. It may act as a reminder that grief and its connotations are not all bad. On the contrary, ‘grief is good’. In a moment our lives could change. A diagnosis of terminal illness, tragic accident, or the loss of a loved one. Inevitably we all experience loss at some stage in our life. There are five parts to this book, Becoming Aware, Acknowledge, Learning Acceptance, Learning Tolerance and Self-Care. As an acronym, they spell BALLS, making it easier for you to recall and bounce back from adversity. Some people seem to be able to manage better emotionally and are able to pause when overwhelmed by a loss or any difficulties in life. Good Grief might act as a reminder of how deeply we care for ourselves, our community and our planet. Remember ‘tough times don’t last; however, resilient people do.’ Good grief. Dean is the most incredible MC and was an absolutely perfect fit to oversee my husbands funeral. I felt like Dean was part of our family with the way he related to me and my stories of my loved one that died suddenly. It was hard enough having a covid restricted funeral at the highest part of our pandemic, however Dean made me feel at ease, we shared laughs and the way he delivered the funeral was just full of love, laughter, kindness. He understood our vibe and made the whole experience so easy. Kindness, warmth, and a bloody amazing personality is what you get with Dean. He is truly a man for all occasions." Courtney Thoreson "Dean was the celebrant who conducted the service for my beloved husband Lloyd. From the moment I met Dean I felt comfortable as he was so caring and compassionate. His service was beautiful and he spoke as if he’d known us all his life. He made the day so memorable and it was a lovely ceremony even though I was heartbroken. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough. We keep in touch from time to time which I appreciate it’s a lovely personal touch." Marian Taylor "Dean was the most wonderful celebrant at my husbands service. He was caring, considerate with a wonderful manner. The day was extremely difficult to comprehend but Deans manner made it somewhat easier. I cannot recommend him highly enough. My family, a large one, all had the same thing to say. Dean was sensational. I cannot speak highly enough about Dean. You will not be disappointed." Noni Monton "Last September, my dear friend and companion Pat, passed away from Pancreatic cancer. We needed a funeral celebrant and were at a loss to know where to start. The funeral director recommended Dean to be our celebrant. From the moment we met Dean to discuss proceedings, we felt completely at ease! Dean conducted the funeral with such compassion, finesse, and a little humour where appropriate, one would assume he knew Pat very well. How lucky and blessed we were to find him! I cannot thank him enough for his warmth, compassion and professionalism." Lenore Adam "I am so very pleased we were recommended Dean as the celebrant to help us farewell my father who recently left us. Not only did Dean deliver a wonderful service and celebration of my dad's life, he supported us every step of the way with the planning. His compassion, empathy, experience and support was invaluable in helping us get through a very hard time. I cannot commend highly enough." Rob Lennon "Dean officiated at our son Travis's celebration of life in March 2021. While it was an extremely distressing time for our family, Dean was so empathetic and caring which made it easier for us. Many people who attended thought he was a family member or friend. He took the time to speak with us and get to know what our beautiful son Travis was like. He guided us through the whole process and gave us excellent advice. What could have been a morbid day was instead a time to truly celebrate Travis's life and to honour his memory. As a family, we could not recommend Dean more highly." Julie Meloni "What can I say!
