When California-born Kim Hawley found San Diego in 1985, it was love at first
sight. Charmed by the idyllic setting, wildly diverse neighborhoods and
welcoming community, she put down roots. She later married and set about raising
two wonderful children. As San Diego grew and evolved, Kim and her family grew
too, their hearts entwined with a place where neighbors are like family and
fellow San Diegans become quick friends.
