OUR MISSION

We focus on high-quality early learning experiences that build the foundation
for skills children need to thrive in school and in life. To accomplish this, we
offer support to strengthen Michigan’s providers of early care and education so
they can continuously improve the services and support they provide young
children, their families, and the community.


INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES

Most young children in Michigan, ages birth-12, are in licensed programs and it
is important for these experiences to be the very best. Quality licensed
programs help children learn, grow and develop.

Effective February 25, 2024, Michigan has removed the requirement to work with
the Office of Child Support to receive help paying for child care. Check to see
if you are now eligible!

Transition to Quality Improvement Process-February 2023

Great Start to Quality is improving! Programs can learn more and get ready for
the transition by checking out the new online resources as well as the timeline
for getting Star rated before February 2023.  If your program has a current
rating that expires between now and April 2023, you may want to take action to
avoid a lapse in rating and/or subsidy.  Call 1-877-614-7328 for more
information.
