WELCOME!

June 17, 2016 by Admin

Horse Manure is the substrate of choice for table mushrooms like Portobello,
Psilocybe Cubensis and Panaeolus Cyanescens...and it's one of the best
substrates for Cannabis (if it's legal where you are!).

Our horses are fed a high protein, Alfalfa diet, Alfalfa supplements and whole
fruits and vegetables, making the best compost for indoor gardens, Mushrooms and
Cannabis!

Solarized Compost, is first field aged, hand sifted, then solarized for 5 days
before packaging making the medium beautifully light and perfect for growing!

We also offer a Garden compost which is Barley Straw and Horse Urine, aged and
turned.  Garden Compost comes in two ways, straight from the land OR Solarized
for a more Weed-Free garden!

Pick up times start in June and end in October.

DESERT REFRIGERATOR…DIY

June 15, 2016 by Admin Tagged Cannabis, Desert Refrigerator, DIY, Free, Home
Made, Make It Yourself, Mushrooms, shrooms, substrate

We give our horses lots of carrots in the hot summer and for a long time, I use
to keep them in my wife's office refrigerator...but this year she kicked me
out!  The summer heat wilts the carrots and I like to give my horses a nice cool
treat at the end of a hot day, so...I built a Desert Refrigerator...something to
keep the carrots cold in the summer and warm in the winter...

So what you need is an outside trash can, I used one that we had been using for
recycling but the lid broke, so I decided to reuse it for this project!

Then I needed a metal trash can to hold the carrots inside

Then I needed Sand...about 3 bags should do it!

To put this together, I needed the larger plastic can on the outside, so I
washed it and cleaned it out, then added at least 2 inches of fine play sand on
the bottom...

After I put the sand in the bottom, I put the metal trash can in and centered it
so I had about 1 inch of space around the outside and between the two cans...

Then I needed to add my sand, I put the lid on so I didn't get any of the grit
inside the metal can...

Then I added my sand and began to push it in between the metal can and the outer
can into the 1 inch space...it took some hard work, and sometimes some pinched
fingers, but I got it all down in there...

Then, I put some nice, cold, fresh Rocky Mountain water on top of the lid to
wash all the sand off and poured it slow so it would soak down into the sand, be
patient so it doesn't over flow!

Now that things are washed off and the sand is in place, the water is into the
sand, my carrots have a nice cool place to stay in the summer and a warm
insulated place to stay in the sub zero winters!

Now, how this works is...with the water in the sand, evaporation of the water
will keep the metal can cool, which keeps whatever is in the metal can cool.
After I put the carrots in and waited about 1 hour, I lifted the lid and it was
as cold as an electric refrigerator!  Now my horses are happy and so is my wife!
