WELCOME TO AFRICAN VISION MALAWI

(known as The Landirani Trust in Malawi).

OUR VISION...

to see a "healthy, educated and self-sufficient community in Malawi".

THE PEOPLE OF MALAWI WANT TO HELP THEMSELVES.

Since 2005 African Vision Malawi has been helping children & vulnerable people
in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world.

We can empower them to become self-sufficient and independent.

Donate now to help us help children & vulnerable people in Malawi.

WHAT WE DO

SAM'S VILLAGE

Sam’s Training Village is a self-sustaining training village, built on a 17-acre
site. The objective is to support a move away from hand-outs and to train
thousands of local people out of poverty.

HEALTH

11% of children die before reaching their 5th birthday.
50% of under 5's deaths are due to Malaria.
11% of Malawians are living with HIV/AIDS.
(WHO)

EDUCATION

We have 12 centres supporting the under-5's and support pupils in Primary,
Secondary and Further Education, typically 40 secondary and 20 university
students at any given time.

WATER & SANITATION

Today, many of Malawi’s poorest and most marginalised people don’t have clean
water to drink, decent toilets or good hygiene. Without these basics, we cannot
begin to help them with better education, health and self-sufficiency.

ENVIRONMENT

Our immune systems depend on good nutrition. In Malawi people depend on their
maize harvest to the exclusion of many highly-nutritious foods. Deforestation on
a massive scale leads to Malawi losing about 300km2 of forest land every year.

CELEBRATE & GIVE

Most fundraising comes from personal donations. You can help us through regular
monthly giving; leaving a legacy; pledging gifts from a birthday; or running a
fundraising event. Please consider one or more of these as it’s so easy to help.

LATEST NEWS

Welcome to our NEW 2021 Website. We hope you enjoy the look and feel and of
course the content! Many thanks to Nigel Bunner for making it possible through
many long hours.

Ladies, do join us for our annual Ladies Fun Night on October 13th, in Surbiton.
Details below.

We are now looking at getting our annual Malawi bike rides back on track. The
most probable dates are in Spring 2022, do get in touch if you want to know
more, details below.

This year we had 5 runners in the London Marathon, October 3rd. The photos are
here if you would like to see how they got on. If you would like to support them
here is a link to all our runners.

With most of our Fundraising cut back this year, do consider supporting us by a
small standing order. We have reduced most of our field activities so that we
can minimise the effect on our staff and the most vulnerable, but do please help
if you can by donating above. Thank you!
