MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO, INGRID COCKHREN: PACES IS SUNSETTING EFF. APRIL 26TH

Ingrid Cockhren (PACEs Connection Staff) · 25.04.2407:30

Hello partners, members, and friends, It is with mixed emotions that I am
sharing that PACEs Connection will be sunsetting all operations effective
Friday, April 26. While it saddens me to see this chapter of PACEs work come to
a close, this work is too important to end, and efforts are underway to identify
a new home for PACEs to continue its work. At the same time, this presents an
exciting opportunity for PACEs to reemerge stronger than ever. Although we
intended a seamless transition,...

May issue, linked here, she shares an article I wrote (and illustrated) on
trauma art and the many ways it leads to healing. I often do art when working
with groups. See:...

THOUGHT TRAPS THAT BLOCK HEALING FROM CHILDHOOD ADVERSITIES

Dr. Glenn Schiraldi · 23.04.2406:00

Time and willpower alone will not typically alter overwhelming, disturbing
memories from childhood. Seven deadly thoughts can keep survivors of adverse
childhood experiences from utilizing effective paths to healing. Disputing these
thoughts can open one up to finally heal.

Hi everyone! I'm a PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh, and I'm
currently researching the associations between attachment, daily routine
regularity, mental health, and childhood adversity. Your participation could
significantly contribute to our understanding and clinical practices in these
areas. The survey takes approximately 15-25 minutes to complete, and all
responses are completely anonymous. Plus, you'll have the chance to win one of

Has anyone taken clips from any of the TIC documentaries and incorporated them
into a presentation for older teens/young adults? And yes, it is great to be
able to show a full documentary and then have a follow up discussion, but not
always possible when you have just an hour slot. And another ask...does anyone
have presentation materials for police depts? thank you.Read More...

resilience. The videos ideally need to be between 3-4 minutes long. I realize
there is a lot to say on this topic, but wanted to be as concise as possible.

I am doing a presentation on trauma to older high school students in an
alternative program. Had thought about showing Paper Tigers with follow up
conversation. I know there are other documentaries and perhaps even Ted Talks or
YouTubes that would speak to their experiences. I am looking for suggestions.
These students live in an urban setting that oftentimes reeks of toxic stress.
Also, wold appreciate suggestions of icebreakers to use. The groups will be
small, lending the conversation to...Read More...
