FAURECIA & KWANG JIN SANG GONG TO MAKE DOOR MODULES IN S KOREA

By Liz White, UT staffNanterre, France-French automotive supplier Faurecia has
signed an agreement with South Korean company Kwang Jin Sang Gong to create a
50/50 joint venture which will make door modules in South Korea. The deal
furthers the French group's strategy for growth in the Asia-Pacific region, said
a Faurecia statement. Faurecia, which claims to be Europe's second largest
automotive equipment supplier and the ninth largest worldwide, said the venture,
to be called Kwang Jin Faurecia Ltd, will have its head office and development
centre in Ansan. Meanwhile, the JV's three assembly plants in Asan, Ulsan and
Kwangju will produce just-in-time door modules for automakers Hyundai Motor and
Kia Motors. Faurecia said the investment will bolster its position as a maker of
door modules and strengthen its presence in the South Korean market. Faurecia is
already the second largest manufacturer of exhaust systems in South Korea.

regulators and the second largest supplier of door modules."
