DOW OPENS 400 POINTS LOWER AS INVESTORS REACT TO RUSSIA SANCTIONS

Stocks opened sharply lower Monday as investors assessed a new round of
sanctions against Russia by the U.S. and its allies in response to Moscow's
invasion of Ukraine. Talks between Ukraine and Russian officials at the
Ukraine-Russia border were also in focus. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA,
-1.16% dropped 478 points, or 1.4%, to 33,581, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.78%
dropped 1.1% to 4,338 and the Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.25% slumped 0.6% to
13,613. Over the weekend, Western countries moved to remove more Russian banks
from the SWIFT interbank messaging system and took aim at Russia's central bank.
The U.S. on Monday prohibiting any transactions with the Central Bank of the
Russian Federation, as well as Russia's national wealth fund and the Russian
Ministry of Finance
