The festival is essential to re-envision and transform the role of arts and culture in sustainable development. This festival aims to create a more representative, fair, inclusive, and sustainable ecosystem for artists and creative practitioners to lead and be represented. It addresses the urgent need to change outdated systems that currently limit the impact and potential of the arts sector. Three Ways to Engage 1. Curate a Virtual or In-Person Arts Event Take the lead on putting together an event either in your community or virtually! We'll teach you how to curate a remarkable event that is artist friendly and in support of the UN Summit of the Future! APPLY TO CURATE 2. Join Our Global Artist Roster to Find an Event Partner Are you an artist new to the UN space? Don't worry, we'll try to help you find other artists or an entity to match up with so you can co-create your own event for the "Arts for the Future" Festival! JOIN OUR ROSTER 3. Become an Official Partner or Sponsor for the Festival We are artist-led so are hosting the festival through our collective commitment to amplifying the voices of artists and cultural workers in UN processes. We're looking for partners and sponsors to join us! CONTACT US FOR INFO Ideas for Arts Events -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Film Screening and Panel Discussion: Host a screening of an impactful film followed by a panel discussion with the director, key figures involved in the film's subject matter, and local artists. * Live Music and Poetry Jam: Organize a live music performance intertwined with poetry readings. Include local musicians and poets to showcase diverse talents, followed by a panel discussion with the performers. * Art Fair : Create an art fair showcasing various artists' works, including paintings, sculptures, and crafts. Include a creative workshop where participants can learn techniques from one of the exhibiting artists. * Dance Workshop and Performance: Offer a dance workshop in the afternoon followed by an evening performance. This can include a variety of dance styles, promoting cultural exchange and inclusivity, and conclude with a panel discussion with the dancers and choreographers. * Photography Exhibition and Workshop: Set up a photography exhibition with works from local and international artists. Offer a photography workshop by one of the featured photographers. * Sip and Paint Session: Organize a "Sip and Paint" event where attendees can enjoy drinks while painting guided by a professional artist. This relaxed, social event encourages creativity and community building. * Virtual Reality Art Experience and Panel: Provide a virtual reality setup where attendees can experience immersive art environments and creations from digital artists, followed by a panel discussion with the VR artists about the future of digital art. * Graffiti and Street Art Tour with Workshop: Arrange a guided tour of local street art and graffiti, concluding with a live mural painting session where attendees can watch artists create new pieces and participate in a graffiti workshop. * Theatre Performance with Q&A and Workshop: Present a live theatre performance that addresses social issues followed by a Q&A session with the cast and crew to discuss the themes and creative process. Include a theatre workshop where participants can learn acting techniques. * Community Mural Project with Artist Panel: Organize a community mural painting event where local artists and attendees collaborate to create a large mural that represents the festival's themes of justice and sustainability. Follow up with a panel discussion with the mural artists about the role of public art in community engagement. How to Join the Festival Step 1: Choose Your Arts Event Type Decide if you want to host a virtual or in-person event. Align your event with the UN Summit of the Future , focusing on arts as a force for justice and sustainability. Pick your preferred genre—film screening, music, poetry, workshop, or panel discussion. Step 2: Organize or Partner with an Artist You can either plan a self-managed event with your artist friends or request a partnership with us for extra support. Submit your event details—location, date, and time—through our form. Step 3: Share and Enjoy the Festival Once accepted, your event will be listed on the Arts for the Future Festival website and promoted through our network. We’ll provide a Trello board with promotional assets to help you spread the word.On the event day, welcome your guests and enjoy the artistic exchange.
