H&D, 2023

A born Canadian, raised across the US and India, finds herself at a school in
Virginia to study math. A born Marylander, raised in the DMV his entire life,
finds himself at the same school to pursue medicine. The nomad and the native.
Different lifestyles, yet similar upbringings with the same family values.
Joined the same dance team. D, the strong-willed leader, setting the tone with
her own tenacious example and work ethic. H, the goofy extrovert, keeping the
team bonded together with his antics and good-hearted personality. Dancing
together, they became friends. Friends who held each other accountable, kept
each other smiling and laughing, had late night conversations about the
important things in life. Friends became bestfriends. Shared everything with
each other. Inevitably, feelings arose. These bestfriends pushed the feelings
away as best they could, but you know how it goes. A few years of roller coaster
ups and downs. But the friendship at its core, so pure, could never be
extinguished. Timing. Sometimes, all it takes is some new perspectives, life
changes, and the right timing. 2020 was a difficult year for all, but for these
two lovebirds it was also the start of a beautiful relationship together. Canada
vs USA, the mess-creator vs OCD-cleaner, artistic vs scientific, thrill-seeker
vs keep-it-safe. DMV together, trying new foods, exploring different cities,
finding new board games to play, listening to Bollywood lo-fi, making each other
laugh and feel good. Head over heels for each other, love growing deeper each
and every day. Welcome to the story of H&D, join us as we eagerly look forward
to the next chapter together.
