The Character of the Corporation 2024

CORPORATE PURPOSE, BOARD PURPOSE

The Character of the Corporation is the only event that exclusively focuses on
the critical issues of shareholder and stakeholder governance from the board's
perspective.

2024 is a time of great challenge for public company boards. AI is changing the
way we relate to our workforce. As CEO compensation grows, that very same
workforce is asking questions about just how much the chief executive should be
valued. Conflict in many parts of the world is making directors consider where
it’s right to do business.  And many board members are finding their authority
challenged by “superstar CEOs,” leaders with the power to seemingly usurp some
of the board’s most basic responsibilities, such as choosing a CEO successor.

This conference addresses corporate purpose vs. board purpose and how to balance
the interests of various stakeholders while maintaining the core objectives of
corporate governance.

Join other top board members and governance leaders to engage in vigorous
discussions and debate, and challenge your board to satisfy both shareholder
expectations for financial returns and stakeholder demands for responsible and
sustainable business practices.

Our prestigious panel of directors is prepared to engage in a lively discussion
on the matters and complexities of geopolitical conflict, board refreshment,
artificial intelligence, stakeholder engagement and more.
