Read More Learn more about Sabrina Sabrina Bousbar Public Servant & Commonsense Problem Solver Sabrina Bousbar is a public servant, preparedness and recovery expert, and organizer who has dedicated her life to bringing people together to solve problems. Born and raised in Pinellas County, Sabrina is the daughter of Moroccan and Colombian immigrants who came to the United States in search of a better life. Her parents taught her the importance of showing up for neighbors and giving back to the community from an early age. Sabrina worked hard in and out of school, defying expectations of a working-class kid from an immigrant family. While at Osceola High School in Seminole, she participated in Girls State, volunteered at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and tutored students to help make ends meet. Thanks to scholarships and part-time jobs, she attended The Florida State University and earned a reputation as an effective voice for change on campus. Active in the FSU marching band and student government, she opened doors of opportunity for young women leaders and successfully championed impactful changes through student government, including securing no-cost hygiene products in on-campus restrooms. As the product of a community already feeling the impacts of the climate crisis, Sabrina is passionate about boosting resiliency and preparing for the future. Eager to protect our beaches and the community she loves, she pursued and earned a Master’s degree in Emergency & Disaster Management from Georgetown University, with a specialization in mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. The only candidate with federal experience, Sabrina has seen the power of what’s possible when we come together to overcome challenges and get things done. As a senior advisor in the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), Sabrina served on the team responsible for leading the nation’s public health preparedness for, response to, and recovery from disasters and public health emergencies. She supported federal, state, and local health agencies, working to ensure access to critical resources, vaccines, and supplies needed to save lives during the pandemic. Sabrina helped support communities recovering from mass shootings and natural disasters and provide direct relief to millions of American children, families, and seniors here in Florida and nationwide. In times of crisis, Sabrina answers the call to serve and takes action to get meaningful results. A public servant to her core, Sabrina is running for Congress so that every American has the freedom to thrive in healthy, safe communities – with the education, healthcare, housing, and jobs that every family needs and deserves.
