A nationwide company is seeking to fill a newly created role of Financial
Systems Manager. Reporting to the VP of FP&A this Financial Systems Manager will
be responsible for the development and creation of efficiency of the financial
computer systems to ensure the company’s operational needs are met. In
partnership with information technology, accounting, and operational teams, the
candidate selected for the Financial Systems Manager role will implement and
manage financial accounting systems.

Duties include:

 * Coordinating and collaborating with finance teams in regards to reporting
   packages and system development
 * Develop, analyze, and review implementation, operation, maintenance and
   enhancement strategies of financial systems
 * Evaluation of workflow, work products, methods, procedures and processes
   followed by advising/recommending changes and making modifications to
   functionality and workflow
 * Configure systems access to enhance controls
 * Oversee user operational needs of financial computer systems and act as the
   first point of contact to respond to user system functionality
 * Develop, test, implement, and evaluate new systems/reports as departments and
   management/leadership request
 * Carry out system training for users on financial system and ensure processes
   are defined clearly (ie. procure-to-pay, record-to-report)
 * Prepare detailed procedural guidelines and instructions to be used in the
   implementation and revision of accounting systems
 * Cross functionally partner with leadership to provide support in the
   provision of timely financial information (ie. various department reports,
   performance, other KPI)
 * Managing the automation of developing departmental budget/forecast to actual
   to actual monthly/quarterly reporting
 * Review, maintain, and ensure compliance of all financial systems procedures
   and policies
 * Develop, coordinate, and recommend production schedules and requests
 * Provide input and participate in month- and year-end closing automated
   functions
 * Provide additional and ad hoc financial systems support and analysis
 * Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 * Bachelor’s degree in computer management systems, accounting, finance, or
   related field
 * 3+ years of experience managing, operating, and improving financial
   accounting systems
 * Extensive experience in the creation, updating, and implementing new
   reporting processes in an automated capacity
 * Strong skills in data architecture, analytics, creative problem-solving, and
   critical thinking to deliver practical and innovative solutions to complex
   problems
 * Comprehensive understanding of financial system controls
 * Excellent written and oral communication skills, with exceptional ability to
   present and explain information clearly to non-finance staff and management
 * Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with
   shareholders, peers, customers, and others of various levels
