Under the direction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Norman Brigade has already participated in the liberation of Ukrainian villages and territory, with more volunteers joining their ranks every day. Membership in the Norman Brigade is entirely voluntary and unpaid. They put their lives on the line to protect the lives and freedom of the people of Ukraine. Due to the desperate situation, they have been forced to procure their own plane tickets, body armor, and other vital life saving gear and supplies. These men need our support as do Ukrainian refugees who are fleeing their war-torn country. Innocent people are being maimed and killed by the ambitions of a brutal dictator and they need assistance from other countries, like Canada. We will be here to help Ukrainian refugees and our veterans when they return home. Goals Fundraising Goal: $15,000 Stretch Goal: $330,000 Our goal is to provide body armor, night vision and tourniquets to foreign volunteer fighters in Ukraine so they can free Ukrainians and bring humanitarian aid and medical supplies to them. The Bravery Foundation has adopted a Ukrainian mother and her two small children who are family members of a long term Kelowna resident, Nina Typusiak. Also known as 'Teacher Nina' to many kids in the Okanagan who participated in her preschool programs over the past 23 year, including our Founder's children. Lastly, if required, some funds may be earmarked to support the families of volunteers while they are away. When the foreign volunteers are no longer needed in Ukraine, our primary focus will be to assist more Ukrainian refugees. The Bravery Foundation is working with the Kelowna Ukrainian Church, and the Kelowna Stands With Ukraine group. Together, they have provided both medical supplies and 10 sets of body armor for the Norman Brigade.
