Colvin Memorial Fund, we believe that no child should face a serious illness alone. We are dedicated to supporting families during their most challenging times. Our mission is to provide emotional, financial, and logistical assistance to families with seriously ill children, helping them stay together and focused on what matters most: love, care, and healing. We aim to ensure that every child can navigate the journey of illness with dignity, support, and the strength of family and love by their side. DONATE ABOUT PARKER This memorial fund was created in memory of Parker Grant Colvin, a much loved child, brother, and grandson. Parker was born in Columbus, Ohio in 2020 alongside his twin brother Asher, and passed in the arms of his mom and dad at six months old. During those six months, he tried his first food – applesauce. He had a small birthmark on his cheek that his dad and mom (and now brother) affectionately refer to as “the Parker marker”. He and his brother were one month old for their first holiday season, and Parker could look at holiday lights for hours. He laughed when his mom sang to him. The last time his mom and dad saw him smile was when he saw his dad walk into the hospital room on the day of his cancer diagnosis. The night before he passed, he opened his eyes for the first time in days to look at his parents, and hold their hands. Palliative medical professionals say that this is common in children; they use their remaining strength to connect with their loved ones as a final gift. OUR MISSION Some say that there would be no more peaceful way to pass than surrounded by loved ones. While Parker had his mom and dad throughout the duration of his illness, many children are not afforded that luxury. Financial barriers such as insurance maintenance, transportation costs, lodging costs, and other childcare make it difficult for children to have the support needed during some of the most difficult days of their lives. Family proximity has been scientifically linked to better psychological and physical outcomes, including shorter hospital stays. We aim to make this essential available by providing emotional, logistical, and financial support to families in need by assisting in coverage of: * Transportation costs * Lodging costs * Maintenance of proximity of siblings * Medical costs For more information on how you can assist, follow us on social media or send us an email at admin@pgcfund.org.
