THE PERSONALITY LAB OF BRENT ROBERTS

Visit this website in its different languages:

Select Another Language Português 简体中文

Our Research
The Roberts Lab researches how personality develops across the lifespan and what
factors contribute to those changes. We also investigate characteristics like
social, emotional, and behavioral (SEB) skills, self-regulation, impulse
control, and narcissism.

What Can You Expect from Our Tests?
On the website, you will find many tests developed by our team, many of which
offer immediate feedback about your personality traits, skills, and other
personal characteristics. By participating, you might be contributing to some of
our research.

Current Research
We are currently carrying out different research projects. One of them is
developing the Some Totally Unreasonable People in Denial Scale (STUPID Scale),
which assesses people's training behaviors and poor recovery practices. This
project also helps us identifying which sports are associated with more reckless
training behaviors and injuries.

We also assess Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Skills (SEB Skills), which
allow test takers to assess their skills across different domains. The BESSI has
been carefully developed and validated and provides a comprehensive assessment
of SEB skills. It assesses the following skill domains and their facets:
Self-Management, Social Engagement, Cooperation, Emotional Resilience, and
Innovation Skills. The inventory is currently being translated into different
languages, with adaptations already available in German, Spanish, and Italian,
among others.

In addition to these, we are currently doing research on the Big Five traits and
vocational interests, and whether their relationship to creative achievement is
influenced by gender.

Furthermore, we study impulse control, focusing on how individuals manage their
impulses across different domains.
