made your front door a Jack O’Lantern portal to Halloween Town? Complete with
seasonal color landscaping??

Halloween is one week away! It wouldn’t be Halloween season without this spooky
image of young Ned Alton of Wayne, Pennsylvania, and his Nixon-themed Jack
O’Lantern.
Is that blur seemingly moving across the image a spectral presence or a trick of
the light? We’ll never tell! 👻

#OTD 10/20/1973 President Nixon instructed United States Attorney General Elliot
Richardson to fire Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox. Richardson, unwilling to
comply, resigned. The task then fell to Deputy Attorney General William
Ruckelshaus, who also resigned. Solicitor General Robert Bork was made Acting
Attorney General and dismissed Cox. These events, which came to be known as the
"Saturday Night Massacre," contributed to the creation of the Ethics in
Government Act of 1978.
