Welcome to the OG Nation guild thread! This is a guild for OG names only, if
interested read everything and submit an application as a reply.





OG Nation was founded in September 2015 by @Style . At one point, the guild had
100+ OG name members. Unfortunately, many original members went inactive and the
guild was given to @wp who used it for something else. Ever since 2018, the
officer team and I have been working on growing the guild, and over the years we
have successfully been able to restore the member count and activity.

In OGN, we are looking for players with OG names to represent our guild. We do
not care about STATS or being on the leaderboards. Although, we do have some
very talented individuals in our guild, so we're still doing decently on the
leaderboards anyway. We have a discord which anyone may join, however guild
members will have special roles which grant access to more channels.

An OG account is a "rare" account that has a name such as a
verb/noun/place/animal etc. This makes the account's value go up. Now you may
ask yourself, "why would I want such accounts?" These accounts aren't modified
like most of them are, meaning that they don't have "xx" or numbers which make
them unique.

For example, Dog is an OG name, but DogIsCool, Dog5 or Dogsing (2 prefixes
aren't even semi) wouldn't be classified as OG. However, "Dogs" would be Semi-OG
as it is plural or has an added suffix or prefix. ( -s, -ing, -ed, -er, etc)
Having an OG or Semi-OG name makes you get more noticed in-game.

What is an OG name?
An OG name is a name that is "original" - meaning rare and recognizable.

"Is this name OG?"
If you have to ask if your name is OG, it probably isn't. To get a good idea,
compare your username to the members already in OG Nation. If you're still
unsure, you can always DM an officer.

Names that may seem recognizable but wouldn't be accepted are:
- Full names of (non-mainstream) celebrities, actors, etc.
- "Dictionary" names - words so uncommonly used that you'd have to look them up
- Phrase names and uncommon abbreviations
- Names of obscure or unpopular countries, cities, etc.
- Names of random Pokémon (not including popular ones)

How do you handsnipe / get an OG name for free?
The answer simply put is, you don't. Think of it like winning the lottery - yes
it's technically possible, but it is super super super unlikely to the point
where with a lottery ticket you're wasting your money, and with handsniping
you're wasting your time.
With handsniping, you're a single person clicking a button once. You're up
against actual bot snipers which send thousands of requests within milliseconds
and on top of that there are other people like you who are clicking the button
once. A better use of your time would be to save up some money for an OG or a
snipe for an OG so you can be the original owner.

Why was my application denied?
If your name is OG enough for the guild, and doesn't have a suspicious history,
then it's probably due to questions being skipped in the application or the
answers not being detailed enough.

I have a semi / my name isn't OG enough / I don't have an OG. Can I still join?
Only accounts with OG names can join the Hypixel guild, though you can still
join the Discord! Take the quiz/questionnaire to get access.

Are there any exceptions?
Other rare accounts, such as those with special capes, YouTube ranks, and good
semi-OG usernames with Minecon capes may be able to join OG Nation.

Are there any rules?
The five basic rules are:
- civility: don't act discriminatory or start drama.
- integrity: don't join attempting to abuse a marketplace community for unfair
dealing or selling illegitimate items.
- approval: don't attempt to join OG Nation on multiple accounts or bypass
application process.
- respect: don't join to advertise other guilds / discords; respect that this is
a space for OG Nation only.
- honesty: don't attempt to hide suspicious history or avoid punishments."
