FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 1. How can I check if I am using the correct passphrase?

Go to the Computing Accounts page, click "Verify your passphrase," and
    follow the instructions.

 2. I verified my passphrase but still can't log in. What can I do?

First, be sure you are using the correct username. Put "ad3\" in front of
your UC Davis login ID (for example, ad3\manecon).

Second, set a new passphrase. Although your passphrase may be correct, it
may not be synced to all the password servers. Setting a new passphrase will
fix this. Go to the Computing Accounts page, click "Change your passphrase,"
and follow the instructions. Then wait about 30 minutes and you should be
    able to log in.

 3. How do I install a Stata package?

You will not be able to install packages on the server. Please email
stata-support@ucdavis.edu and we can install any packages you need.

MAC FAQ

 1. I can't install Microsoft Remote Desktop. The App Store says my Mac version
is too old. What can I do?

macOS upgrades are free through the App Store. Search the App Store for
"macOS" to get the latest version.

 2. I can't install Microsoft Remote Desktop, and I can't upgrade to the latest
    macOS. What can I do?

Previous macOS uprades are available here. Click any of the links in Safari
and the App Store will allow you to install the selected version. Start with
the newest version and work backward until you find the latest compatible
    version.

 3. I can't access my files in Stata. What do I do?

You need to set up a local folder for sharing files.

In Microsoft Remote Desktop, go to Microsoft Remote Desktop > Preferences...
in the menu bar. Click the General tab and select a folder to share at the
bottom. Make sure Redirect as read-only is NOT checked.
