NOTRE HISTOIRE

Fondée en 2016 à Saint Paul de Vence, où James Baldwin a passé les 17 dernières
années de sa vie, La Maison Baldwin s'est inspirée de l'héritage de Baldwin,
dans le but d'offrir un sanctuaire créatif aux écrivains.



À l'approche du centenaire de l'oncle Jimmy en 2024, La Maison Baldwin attend
avec impatience un avenir riche en promesses, dédié à élever des voix diverses à
travers l'héritage durable de Baldwin.



La Maison Baldwin aspire à devenir un symbole mondialement reconnu de liberté
artistique et intellectuelle, célébrant et intégrant l'héritage de James Baldwin
et les voix d'écrivains divers dans le tissu culturel mondial.



À l'approche du centenaire de Baldwin, notre objectif est d'honorer son impact
mondial, qui s'étend au-delà de ses années dans le sud de la France, en
établissant un réseau mondial de résidences dans des lieux importants pour la
vie et l'œuvre de Baldwin.



Cette vision nous pousse à chérir et à élever diverses perspectives,
garantissant que l'esprit de Baldwin continue d'inspirer à travers les
générations et les régions.

Notre vision


JOHN SMITH

Au cours de sa résidence à Paris au printemps 2022, John Smith a apporté au
groupe des perspectives inestimables et une riche diversité d'idées,
enrichissant le programme de sa profonde connaissance de la narration et de son
engagement à explorer les thèmes de l'identité et de la résilience.

John Smith, basé à Atlanta, est un auteur connu pour ses romans captivants. Ses
œuvres, qui lui ont valu des critiques élogieuses, explorent les thèmes de
l'identité, de la communauté et de la résilience, reflétant son engagement à
représenter les voix noires dans la littérature. Actuellement, John travaille

Emily Johnson est poète et essayiste. Ses œuvres explorent les thèmes de

revues littéraires et a été acclamée par la critique pour ses écrits stimulants.


DAVID MILLER

David a rejoint notre programme de résidence à l'automne 2023, où il a partagé
son expertise dans la manière de tisser le drame et l'humour dans des histoires
captivantes, offrant ainsi des informations précieuses sur la narration
théâtrale.

David Miller est dramaturge et scénariste. Il a écrit plusieurs pièces à succès
qui ont été jouées dans les théâtres du Royaume-Uni. Ses scénarios mélangent
drame et humour pour créer des histoires captivantes.
