Role Background:
We’re looking for a self-motivated, highly driven Software Engineer to bolster
our development team. Our team is focused on building applications to facilitate
and support a new communication channel for marketers.


Teams Were Hiring For:
Batch Send: Responsible for orchestrating the delivery of time-sensitive
campaign SMS and email messages. The team builds customer-facing tools,
reporting, and high-scale infrastructure to send messages at high volume that
maximize engagement and revenue for our customers.


Core: Builds infrastructure to send, receive, control, and track SMS and Email
both to and from our carrier and email partners. We focus on scalability and
resilience problems and build tooling to manage all the magic.


Message Content Creation: Builds tools that enable marketers to create engaging
customer experiences. Working on the front end and back end of all message
editors, the message composition flows, and a series of backend services that
provide message content and personalization across email and SMS.


Integrations: Operate the infrastructure and application-level logic to poll
their apis, handle webhooks, and send data about events that happen within
attentive's infrastructure to those third parties. We also make it easy to
configure the events that happen on a customer's website that get sent to
Attentive.


YOU AT ATTENTIVE

 * You have worked professionally with web technologies for 3+ years with
   experience on a single application long enough to see the consequences of
   your decisions
 * You have a proven track record of building applications that maintain a high
   bar of quality
 * You understand how to negotiate with Product Management to meet the user’s
   needs without sacrificing quality or accruing tech debt. You deeply loathe
   regressions and take proactive steps to protect against them through a
   variety of testing techniques
 * You are excited by new technologies but are conscious of choosing them for
   the right reasons
 * You are constantly improving the quality of the project you are working on,
   both via code contributions as well as long-term advocacy for larger-scale
   changes
 * You are enthusiastic about the high impact, fast-paced work environment of an
   early-stage startup


PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AT ATTENTIVE

 * Our backend is Java / Spring Boot microservices, built with Gradle, coupled
   with things like DynamoDB, Kinesis, AirFlow, Postgres, Planetscale, and
   Redis, hosted via AWS.
 * Our frontend is built with React and TypeScript, and uses best practices like
   GraphQL, Storybook, Radix UI, Vite, esbuild, and Playwright
 * Our team is 300+ engineers, product managers, and designers from top tech
   companies including Google, Microsoft, Twitter, Moat, Oscar, and AppNexus
 * We believe our company will win in the long run through product innovation.
