INTRODUCTION




HELLO!

There is more need for private security than ever before. Law enforcement
authorities are overburdened, and in addition to community watch groups, look to
private security officers to be their “eyes and ears.” It is therefore more
important than ever to have a security presence that is well-trained,
understands the needs of your property and takes ownership of that
responsibility.



Starshield Security Services has devised a business model that accomplishes each
of those objectives. We are a small, dedicated company that believes in customer
care and delivers on that promise. That is the very reason we can make the
statements we make in these pages. We believe them. We live them. And we deliver
them.


WHAT WE DO



Starshield Security Services, Inc. understands that when evaluating a security
solution, you are faced with a lot of choices in security service providers.
Unbelievably, they all say the same thing. “We have the best security officers.
We have the best training. We have the best supervision.” I’m not going to tell
you those things. Why? Because it certainly isn’t true that they all have those
great attributes; there always has to be a second best! What I will say is that
with Starshield Security Services you will get what you pay for. It’s worth the
time to look back in history and read the words of the respected poet and
philosopher John Ruskin (1819 – 1900). They are as relevant today as when he
wrote them:

“It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s unwise to pay too little. When you pay
too much you lose a little money, that’s all. When you pay too little you
sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing
the thing that you bought it to do. The common law of business prohibits paying
a little and getting a lot… it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest
bidder, it’s well to add something for the risk that you run – and if you do
that you have enough to pay for something better.”

TRANSPARENCY



We feel bad having to say the word. Synonyms for the word are ‘clarity and
clearness.’ It is the one thing that inhibits good business relationships. In
the security industry why do you have to ask if the security officer did all
four patrols or just two? Why do you have to audit your invoice because the
amount doesn’t reflect the exact times the officer worked? Did they come in late
or leave early? Or, were they even there! This should not be.

Starshield Security Services was built on the foundation that we are the
customer advocate. We work together to make your property more secure and you
shouldn’t have to question if we were there or not, or that your bill is right.
We’re so sure about our transparency we give you the ‘Love What We Do
Guarantee.’ You can leave us anytime. There is no long-term contract. There is
no short-term contract. You can terminate the second day, the first week, or the
first month. We are so sure we can perform to both our and your standards we
will put our money where our words are. Don’t pay us!

You might ask how we can say this, or better yet, how can we do this? Simple.
Every security officer in the company is rewarded by sharing in the profit of
the company. No huge executive salaries, no expensive company cars, and more
importantly, no shortcuts. We know where our bread is buttered; excellent
security officers that are well-trained, well-supervised, and that take real
ownership of their responsibilities to you, the client. Gone are the days when
the minimum wage security officer is asked to protect millions of dollars of
your property. Our officers are owners and share in both yours and our success.

We listen to our customers. It’s simple – You don’t have a business unless you
have a customer. So, we have included both our customers and our security
officers on the Starshield Security Advisory Board. That’s listening! They meet
quarterly to communicate with the Board of Directors on improvement issues. Then
we go about delivering on our commitments. It’s so simple. Say what you mean and
