     GREAT HOTEL FOR NEARBY CONVENTION
     
     I was in town for a convention and I booked at this hotel because the
     convention hotel exceeded my company's nightly allowance. Overall, I was
     glad I did.
     
     The room was nice, the bed comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly.
     The hotel is a short walk form dozens of places to eat and was a 10 minute
     walk to my convention.

     Hotel is outdated and strongly recommended to remodel. Room has odor.

     FUN LOCATION, GREAT STAFF
     
     Plusses - the location is hard to beat, the staff are very attentive and
     considerate. If you're at the convention center, this is a convienent spot
     to stay that is just slightly out of the hustle and bustle (when baseball
     isn't in season!) The views from the windows are great.
     To note - no pool, in case that matters to your stay.
     Minus - Wasn't impressed with breakfast at either the lounge or restaurant.
     The staff were great, and the food wasn't wrong, just low selection and
     Fairfield-Inn-like standard (eggs, meat, boxed cereal.......)Otherwise very
     happy!

     We were visiting for our 30 year wedding anniversary upon checking in. We
     asked for an early check-in about an hour early which there was nothing
     available. Apparently they said they could put us into aWe were visiting

     they said they could put us into a nicer suite that was equivalent for an
     extra $95 So I agreed. Once we arrived at our suite, we opened the door to
     a musty mildew smell that was tolerable, but not favorable. There were no
     windows or any kind of ventilation in the room at all thus Why it likely
     smelled that way. as we were preparing to go out for a fancy dinner for our
     anniversary, I used your iron that was available in the room and needless
     to say it ruined my pants for the evening when I use the iron so much
     calcium deposits were in the iron that went onto my pants that I could not
     get them off it was rather embarrassing to say the least. But the damage
     was done so we made the best of it when we returned to go to sleep we could
     hardly sleep all throughout the night due to a loud hissing explosion noise
     that was going on somewhere in the hotel or outside I couldn’t tell either
     way when 6 o’clock rolled around we gathered our stuff and left as it was
     just icing on the cake for us that we had to get out , I did speak to the
     young lady upfront on the way out, and she assured me that she would speak
     to somebody about this , by far the worst experience with Marriott as I use
     Marriott very often when I travel. One thing I can say, though I will not
     return to this location in the future as it was not satisfactory for me and
     really put a stain in our 30 year anniversary celebration thanks

     GREAT HOTEL
     
     Really enjoyed my stay. I had a great view of the ocean and downtown San
     Diego. Staff was friendly and helpful, valet was on time, and it was a
     great location with easy access to a lot of amenities.
