WE OFFER RMS AUTHORISED INSPECTIONS CALL US ON (02) 8668 4223 | * UNREGISTERED VEHICLE INSPECTION & AUTHORISED CHILD RESTRAINT FITMENT Vehicles need regular safety inspections to remain on the road. Find out what type of inspection your vehicle needs and how to get one. BLUE SLIP INSPECTIONS An Unregistered Vehicle Inspection report (blue slip) verifies that an unregistered vehicle is safe, and it meets design and identity standards. All unregistered light vehicles need a blue slip inspection before they can be registered in NSW. CHILD RESTRAINT FITTING All children must be safely fastened in the correct child car seat for their age and size. We are accredited restraint fitters under the Roads and Maritime Services Authorised Restraint Fitting Station. For more information on having a kids seat installed call us today. CAR TOWBAR FITMENT A properly designed towbar fitted by an authorised fitter, is essential for towing trailers & caravans. All vehicles must comply with all relevant standards for registration and be roadworthy at all times. For quality towbars and same day fitting service call us on (02) 9398 7111. BLUE SLIPS (E-AUVIS) AUVIS inspection (known as a blue slip) ensures vehicles meet safety requirements and design and identity standards. $ 73 PER BLUE SLIP Make a Booking PINK SLIPS eSafety Check Vehicles more than 5 years old need a yearly safety inspection for registration renewal. $ 46 YEARLY Make a Booking PRE-PURCHASE Inspection Once the inspection is done we are able to give you an expert opinion on the vehicle you are looking at purchasing. $ 320 4WD'S EXTRA Make a Booking WHEN & WHERE Unregistered Vehicle Inspections An Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Scheme (AUVIS) inspection or what is known as a blue slip inspection, ensures vehicles meet safety requirements and design and identity standards. Not every workshop or motor mechanic can issue a blue slip or perform a Blue Slip Inspection on a vehicle. A Blue Slip inspection can only be carried out by an authorised vehicle examiner who must be accredited by Transport for NSW under the Authorised Inspection Scheme to inspect vehicles. Randwick Car Care is such a workshop and this can be verified by an Authorised Safety Check signage which is clearly displayed on the exterior of our service centre. You must get an AUVIS inspection if your vehicle: * car registration has been expired for more than 3 months * car brought into NSW from another State, Territory or country * has no number plate * is a write-off approved for re-registration * due to significant changes like a new engine installation * clearing some defect notices AUVIS (blue slip) inspection reports is valid for 42 days from the date of inspection. If the vehicle is imported, you need to provide us with a Vehicle Import Approval issued for the vehicle by the correct Australian Government Department’s QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. What is a Blue Slip? An Blue Slip Vehicle Inspection report (blue slip) verifies that a vehicle is safe, and it meets design and identity standards. 2. What is the difference between a Pink Slip and a Blue Slip? A Pink Slip is a safety inspection that vehicles over 5 years of age must undergo to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy. A Blue Slip is an inspection that all unregistered vehicles must undergo before purchasing a Green Slip and Registration 3. Where do i get a Blue Slip? A Blue Slip inspection can only be carried out by an authorised vehicle examiner who is accredited by Transport for NSW such as Randwick Car Care. 4. Can i drive my car without registration? You can only drive an unregistered vehicle to the nearest convenient service centre if you’re getting or renewing your registration or have an unregistered vehicle permit.
