NAPLES PREMIER UROGYNECOLOGY PRACTICE - BLENDING GYNECOLOGY AND UROLOGY JUST FOR
WOMEN

Are pelvic floor disorders or incontinence causing you pain or embarrassment? Do
you want to gain control of these urology, gynecology and gastroenterology
issues? Have you been to other doctors like a urologist or gynecologist and
still have the same problem?

Knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of female incontinence, pelvic organ
prolapse and complex female pelvic disorders has exploded. A modern subspecialty
called Female Pelvic Medicine & Reproductive Surgery (a.k.a. Urogynecology) was
developed to harness this knowledge to benefit women of all ages.  A
Urogynecologist has advanced training in treating these disorders that a
gynecologist and a urologist may not have.  A gynecologist specializes in the
female reproductive system (vagina, uterus and ovaries) and a urologist
specializes in the urinary tract of both men and women.  A urogynecologist
blends the knowledge of a gynecologist and urologist to give women the best
possible outcomes for disorders that affect these two closely integrated
systems.

The Florida Bladder Institute, based in Naples Florida, is one of the country's
first urogynecology practices. Typically, a woman would have to see a
gynecologist for one problem, a urologist for another and a gastroenterologist
for another. Dr. Joseph Gauta explains, “A Urogynecologist has the skill and
experience to assess the entire pelvic region including the uterus, bladder,
vagina and rectum as well as the muscles, ligaments, connective tissue and
nerves that support those systems.” He added, "This means a thorough evaluation
is done of your urinary, lower gastrointestinal and reproductive systems as a
whole to ensure you receive the best possible treatment and outcome in the most
efficient and cost-effective manner."

COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH USING STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY

At the Florida Bladder Institute, you will experience a thorough approach to the
evaluation and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, bladder and lower urinary
tract disorders, bowel and gas incontinence,  bleeding, pelvic pain and
menopause. Our compassionate and expertly trained team will guide you along the
way using state-of-the-art technology in our comfortable and private setting.

IN-HOUSE TESTING FOR WOMEN'S PELVIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Our goal is to gain a thorough understanding of your unique problem. We have the
most advanced testing equipment in our office. This provides you with the
convenience and comfort of being able to have all of your testing done in one
location so we can determine the root of your pelvic problems. Most problems can
also be conveniently treated in our office. We routinely use the GStirrup®
lithotomy exam boots to provide our patients safety and comfort during
procedures.

We are now offering Emsella for the treatment of urinary incontinence. This
nonsurgical treatment offers the easiest and safest method to noninvasivally
treat stress and urinary incontinence in men and women.

disorders and incontinence. If you need treatment or surgery for your bladder or
other pelvic problems, you may want to consider staying here in Naples and
healing in “Paradise".

DEDICATED BOARD CERTIFIED UROGYNECOLOGIST COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE

Joseph Gauta, MD, FACOG, founded the Florida Bladder Institute in 2006. He is
board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the
American Board of Medical Specialties in the sub-specialty of Female Pelvic
Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (a.k.a. Urogynecology).  Dr. Gauta has
advanced training in the field of urogynecology and pelvic floor disorders. This
exceptional training has given him the ability to understand how all of the
systems of the female pelvic region work in relation to one another in order to
give you the best possible medical outcome. He has proudly earned the Lewis I.
Post Award for Surgical Excellence, the Patient's Choice Award honoring the top
5% of the most highly respected physicians in America as voted upon by their
patients, America's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists from the Consumer
Research Council, Castle Connolly's Top Doctors and 99th percentile in the Press
Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey.

In addition to providing the most advanced medical care for his patients, Dr.
Gauta has been a urogynecologic preceptor for Boston Scientific, Cogentix,
Medtronic and Olympus Corporations. Currently, he is an instructor for Laborie,
a maker of complex pelvic floor testing and treatment materials and Coloplast, a
world leader in surgical tools for pelvic floor disorders and incontinence. Dr.
Gauta trains other urologists and gynecologists from around the globe on how to
perform the most advanced urogynecology procedures as well as advanced
laparoscopy, office-based procedures and LESS (laparoendocscopic single-site
surgery) procedures.

We serve patients from around the world. View our travel information. Our team
approach is known for providing the highest quality care. If surgery is an
option, "Heal in Paradise". Our office is conveniently located on the
southern Gulf Coast of Florida in Naples, so women in South Florida and
Southwest Florida don't have far to travel to find the best Urogynecology team
available.
