FIELD TRIPS

Field trips provide a practical experience to classroom learning, giving
children additional opportunities and experiences outside of the standard
educational environment, creating connections from content to context.

Field trips help students with the opportunity of having first-hand knowledge of
the happenings in our environment. They help to generate and sustain student
interest in the subject in turn aiding retention of information since the
experiences are long lasting.

To reinforce experiential and contextual learning, we at CPGiS organize field
trips to local grocery store, waterfront park, a library, museum, theater,
community garden, restaurant, car showroom, vegetable vendor etc.

CLASSROOM WITHOUT WALLS

A classroom without walls is a term coined by Marshall McLuhan in the late
1950s. It advocates outdoor learning and the idea that the world should really
be framed as an extension of the classroom. At CPGIS we believe that a good
education is one where very few walls, if any, should exist. The classroom is
merely a stepping stone, a way of framing, composing, and observing the world
around us. We give these experiences to our learners which actually opens up
their minds and their creativity, imagination and communication skills are
expanded. Outdoor learning gives our learners exposure to larger concepts, also
making them independent and confident.

SAP

Sports and Arts Programme is a Co-curricular program at CPGIS aimed at providing
holistic development for all our learners. Every learner is free to choose a
combination of sports and performing arts activities which gives maximum benefit
in shaping their personality as the programme helps the learners to learn team
work, discipline, creative thinking and focus.

Every learner has to choose at least three* of the following activities offered
*(differs centre wise and grade wise)

MDM

“Every child is a star”
At CPGIS, we give an opportunity to every child in the Primary section to
display their innate talent by sharing their ‘MOST DELIGHTFUL MOMENTS’. They are
allowed to sing, dance, play an instrument, do mime, mono acting, storytelling,
poem recitation or even share their experiences about their delightful moments.

The learners are given designated few minutes to display their talent helping
them build positive self-esteem. It is a platform for our learners to showcase
their talent and creativity.

At CPGIS, aptitude is not only about academics but giving a platform to hone the
unique gifts that every child has.

AIM FOR THE STARS

We believe in providing an enriching environment to our students to achieve
their maximum potential. Continuous revision and doubt clearing sessions are
conducted for grade 10 students to ensure that children can perform to their
maximum potential.

DIY- Do It Yourself

The brain child of our respected Trustee, Mrs. Archana Goenka is an interesting
and unique programme that instils the essential skills like self-reliance,
confidence, resilience in students which are extremely essential in today’s
competitive world. Today, one needs to be self-dependent so that they help
themselves and are able to help others. A strong step towards Atmanirbhar
Bharat!!!

MENTORSHIP

CPGIS has always been sensitive towards students’ emotional needs. The presence
of a counselor on campus does endorse the statement.

However, sometimes there is an undeniably acute need of a person who goes beyond
parents, teachers, Counselor, friends and connects with students especially when
they enter the adolescence stage; the time when they experience mental and
physical change, when they are preparing to sit the Board Examination, and when
suddenly the amount of expectation goes really high; this is the crucial time
when they need someone who is more than a teacher, parent, friend; maybe a good
blend of all these and which is satisfied by a Mentor, who is a positive guiding
influence in one’s life.

A mentor, who can mould himself/herself into a role of a teacher, parent,
friend, philosopher or a confidant as per the need of the situation, can prove
to be a strong support system to the students at the crucial time of their first
ever Board Examination, an important milestone in their lives. They are the
words of motivation and support at the time of blues and gloom.

MUNN

An initiative to shape young minds into matured citizens Interact Club is a
Rotary sponsored service club for young people aged 14-18 years. It gives
participants an opportunity to be a part of fun, meaningful service projects.
Along the way, Interactors develop leadership skills while discovering the idea
of Service Above Self.

At CPGIS, we encourage all our learners to be a part of this esteemed club which
helps them become Globally Aware Citizens.

STEM

STEAM education which includes Robotics is an interdisciplinary division of
mechanical / electrical engineering and computer science. It deals with the
design, construction, operation, and application of robots. Our curriculum
believes in MAKING and EXPLORING, thus creating more curiosity towards subjects
of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) by connecting them to
real world applications. We provide an environment which fuels curious minds for
innovation and research in the adaptation and creation of technology and its
application.

SPECIAL DAYS AND EVENTS

Special days and events for our learners are planned and tailor made to help the
young learners recapitulate and retain information provided through lessons in
classroom. A variety of special events form an important part of the curriculum
as these are opportunities for the children to get involved and participate
actively with other classmates too. The process of backend preparations, right
up to execution is very exciting and a great amount of practical learning and
application is happening simultaneously.

Children are encouraged towards taking their own decisions as well as owning the
responsibility of the job done. They accept change and adjust and accommodate.
They learn to work in teams.

STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Understanding and respecting varied cultures is the key to be a true global
citizen, and the best way to understand culture of various countries is through
the Student Exchange Programme. It not only helps students to understand the
cultural background but also throws light on the social, emotional set up of the
community of a particular country. Students get an exposure to the educational
and employment opportunities available. At the same time, they understand the
problems and issues faced by students in those countries, thereby enabling them
to draw parallels between the countries and choosing the right option for their
higher studies at the same time developing love and respect for our own culture.

COUNSELLING


MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE AT CPGIS

Counseling forms an integral part of the thought process at CPGIS. We ensure
that a counselor is available to each and every learner right from the
pre-primary to high school. The toddlers learn to share their issues & problems
at an early age, and this helps them to cope with adversities in later life. It
also helps the teachers and parents detect any areas of learning which require
additional support to bring the learners at par with their peers. Open channels
of communication provide a safety net for the young minds that are unable to
discriminate between the right and wrong. The knowledge, that there is someone
to listen to you, can mean the difference between a suppressed and a flourishing
personality. At CPGIS the services of a counselor are available not only to the
students but the teachers and parents as well! Regular workshop on mental health
