THE TRANSITION

The Transition is an on-chain generative NFT collection intended to mark a
milestone on the path towards decentralization.

The entire collection was minted by the deployer at position 0 of the
`TRANSITION_BLOCK`.


> 'TRANSITION_BLOCK' The earliest PoS block of the canonical chain.
i.e. the PoS block with the lowest block height.

The mint transaction is the first Ethereum transaction ever executed under
Proof-of-Stake consensus.

After mint, the NFT contract is completely immutable - no address has admin
priviledges, including the deployer.

At mint, the entire collection was transferred to an entirely self-sustained
Auction House contract, where editions were distributed according to a
trustless, no-reserve daily auction protocol.

To honor Ethereum, the Auction House contract was configured to recognize two
priviledged addresses, belonging to

Vitalik Buterin  and the  Ethereum Foundation

At any time, these addresses were able to claim all remaining editions for which
an auction has not started.

On December 31st, 2022, the last of 100 auctions was settled, officially marking
the end of the initial distribution. All 100 editions now live in the hands of
collectors on the Ethereum blockchain.

There will never be creator royalties charged on secondary market transactions
of editions in this collection.
