These comments can help improve your online reputation, increase sales, and ultimately boost your profits. In addition, Google Business Reviews pages allow you to track how often these reviews are being viewed and where they come from. * More positive customer feedback means that people who use Google to look for local services will be more likely to choose your business than others when they see yours. * Consumers research products online before buying them. They typically look at a minimum of ten product reviews before deciding whether to buy something. If you have enough positive reviews for your business, consumers will feel comfortable purchasing from you. * Positive customer feedback helps businesses get better ratings from Google. These ratings help them climb up the SERPs. * There are lots of review sites, lower prices, and no fees for leaving or responding to customer feedback. Your positive reviews on your profile page serve as free Google ads for your business on the most trusted search engine in the entire universe. THE INITIAL REQUIREMENTS TO GET GOOGLE REVIEWS To get good Google reviews, several factors must be in place: * You must comply with Google's terms of service when asking for customer feedback. This includes not offering incentives and asking if people think they've had a good or bad experience. * You need to create a Google Places page for your business so people can rate and review your business online. * If you want to be able to manage your business listings on Google Maps, you need to have your Google My Business profile created. Here are the steps for creating a Google Map listing and verifying it through Google My Business. These steps are crucial because they are prerequisites to the strategies below and allow you to respond to and manage the influx of reviews you'll be getting once you implement the tactics in this post. HOW TO GET MORE GOOGLE REVIEWS Now that you know how important they are for your business, it's time to start collecting them. Here are 17 ways to go about doing so. 1. FIRST, KNOW THE PROCESS It takes a couple of minutes for a customer to write an online review. Simple enough, right? Well, there's a process to getting there. The customer must: * Open up Google Maps * Search for your business * Click on it to open your Google Business Profile. * Scroll down to the reviews section in your profile * Click write a review Customer: Thank you for being so kind. How can I leave a review? Do you prefer saying "I would rather not answer" instead of "I If you want to leave a Google review, go to Google maps and type "us" into the location box. When you get to the page where you can add a rating, click on the star icon next to the business's name. Then, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Write a Google Reviews" link. Or If you want a Google review, visit our website and click the "Google Review" button. 2. CREATE A GOOGLE REVIEW LINK SHORTCUT Regardless of whether your customers need to log into their accounts to leave reviews, you should still create a link for them to use when they want to leave one. To get started, go to your Google My Business profile, click the Home tab and select the Get your first reviews button. Then, click Share the form and paste the URL into your browser. You'll see this: 3. SHORTEN YOUR REVIEW SHORTCUT You don't need to use an ugly-looking URL when linking to your site from another one. There are free services like Bitly.com, where you can easily create custom links to your content. Now that you've created a great-looking review page for your local store, it's time to think about ways to promote it to customers, so they leave positive reviews. 4. LINK OUT TO YOUR GOOGLE REVIEWS PAGE FROM YOUR WEBSITE If a potential client leaves a review for your business online, their first stop will likely be your site. Ensure your "Contact Us" page has an obvious and intuitive way to contact you (e.g., by phone number). Here, when clicked, it brings the user directly to the Google Business profile for the business. 5. CREATE A GOOGLE REVIEWS PAGE ON YOUR WEBSITE If you want people to visit your site, you need to create a dedicated webpage where they can leave their own Google Reviews. You might also want to add some incentives so people take the time to leave a review. For example, if someone leaves a review, you could offer them 10% off their next purchase. If you include screenshots of your product reviews on your website, they will likely be read by Google's crawler. If you use an aggregator, you might consider creating a page for each product where you can copy and paste the review into the relevant box. You could also look at using plugins that help you automate review aggregation from different websites. 6. INCLUDE A GOOGLE REVIEW CTA IN YOUR FOOTER You could also use an image instead of the above paragraph. Anchor texts are usually used when you're using links within paragraphs. 7. CREATE "LEAVE US A REVIEW" CARDS If you want to get more Google Reviews, you could use this offline approach. You'd need to print out some business cards with a message saying something like "I would be happy to give you a free review" or "Please leave a positive review." Then hand these out at local coffee shops, restaurants, etc., where people often hang out online. "We're Reviews Day. We help small businesses grow online through reputation and review management. Our customers love us because we provide great value — not just an amazing product but also outstanding customer service. And we give back to the community too. That means helping nonprofits raise funds and volunteering time to make things better. Check out what our customers say about us." 8. ASK FOR GOOGLE REVIEWS IN PERSON Are you having a good conversation in your store? I just completed a solid support call where the client was eternally grateful. During your conversations with customers, there are many chances to ask them for Google reviews. Below are some situations and examples of requesting reviews: * "Thanks for letting me know how pleased you are with our business! If you had left a positive Google review, you would've helped more people like yourself find us." * "I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts. What would be even better is if you could share them online so others can benefit from your experience too!" * "We're so glad we were able to assist you. Please share a sentence or two in an online review if you don't mind. It would be greatly appreciated!" Then there's that tiny little business card with links to your reviews on your site, so they're easy to get at. 9. MAKE SURE TO EMPHASIZE TO CUSTOMERS HOW QUICK AND STRAIGHTFORWARD IT IS TO USE YOUR PRODUCT. So by now, if you've read our guide to writing reviews, you should know what you can do to encourage people to write reviews for your website. But just because you've written your review doesn't mean someone else hasn't already left a negative comment! You'll find plenty of examples of bad reviews online, so why not take advantage of them? Ensure you provide constructive criticism – no one wants to hear, "I hate your store!" * If they don't want to write any comments, tell them they can rate the product by leaving a single-star rating. * You can remind them that if they decide to submit their reviews, the review doesn't need to be any longer than one or two sentences. * Instead of saying, "please leave a short description," say, "please drop a quick description." It may seem awkward at first, but it could help. 10. RUN A GOOGLE REVIEW EMAIL CAMPAIGN Whether via personalized messages or a more considerable blanket effort, email advertising is yet another effective method to obtain more Google customer reviews. Just be clear about what you want—don't try to sweet-talk people into writing a positive evaluation. Please don't attempt to trick them into doing something that will benefit other potential clients. And don't try to force them to leave a testimonial if they aren't interested. You may not receive any response at all. In addition, when you've satisfied clients, you'll be amazed at how willing they are to post a testimonial. So long as the whole procedure is crystal clear and you provide an easy means to complete the task, you should find plenty of willing participants. About 86 percent of people are willing to leave reviews for products they've bought. 11. INCLUDE GOOGLE REVIEWS IN SURVEY QUESTIONS. You should ask your customers for input because it shows that you care about their thoughts. If you've got someone who filled out a poll or survey for you, you can use that person's momentum to get them to leave a positive rating on Google. 12. ASK FOR REVIEWS ON SOCIAL MEDIA Social networks are great tools for conversational advertising and customer reviews. Post a picture of your best review and encourage your customers to leave feedback. Ask your fans to share your post with others who might be interested in your product or service. Platforms like Facebook have their review system, so keep this in mind when reaching out in this regard. 13. GET GOOGLE REVIEWS FROM VENDORS AND PARTNERS Vendors and partner companies may not be customers, yet they can attest to what working with you is like on a regular base. Also, they may be more likely to leave a Google review if you leave one for them first. 14. RESPOND TO YOUR EXISTING CUSTOMER REVIEWS If you respond to your client's Google Review comments, you're telling them that they're important enough for you to take the time to read their comments. And if you respond positively, you're showing them that you care about their opinions and that it's worth writing a review yourself. These responses increase the likelihood of future positive ratings. * Positive reviews: Being specific, timely, and grateful in your responses to positive customer reviews will get more positive reviews. * If you respond quickly and politely to negative feedback and resolve the problem, then you may be able to convert some of these negative comments into positive ones. Of consumers who look at reviews, 97% look at businesses' replies to reviews. 15. CREATE A GOOGLE REVIEW INSTRUCTION VIDEO Even with a shortcut URL, some customers might still find navigating the website challenging. In this scenario, a short video tutorial could help them get around the site quickly. With today's tools and technologies, DIY at-home marketing tutorials are more accessible than ever. Below is an excerpt from a security company: 16. INCLUDE YOUR GOOGLE REVIEW LINK IN YOUR EMAIL SIGNATURE Adding a link to your Google review page in your email signature is easy, free, and practical to get more Google reviews without asking directly. For example: * If we've helped you, please leave a review so that other people can find us too. * If you're happy with [business name], leave a positive review here. * Tell people about [Business Name]! It can be beneficial if you regularly email your customers. EXAMPLES OF ASKING FOR USER FEEDBACK It can be challenging to come up with the right questions to ask when requesting a Google review. Here are some basic phrases you might want to start with. * Reviews on Google help us to help more people like you. When you have a minute, please share your feedback about our business! * Got a minute to review us on Google? We'd love to get your feedback. * Thanks for using our service! We'd appreciate any feedback you could give us by leaving us a Google review. * Thanks for taking the time to post a review on Google. It helps us keep our services up to date. * Please leave us a short review on Google so we can improve our service for others. HERE'S HOW TO LEAVE A GOOGLE REVIEW WITHOUT USING THE "SHORTCUT LINK." With your shortcut links, you can write Google review posts without going through an extra step. However, it's still important to understand the whole process before you start. Plus, you might be able to help out some other local business owners by leaving them positive feedback. Here's how to do it. HOW TO LEAVE A GOOGLE REVIEW ON MOBILE * Open the Google Maps app * Search for the business name * Tap on the listing * Tap the "Reviews" tab in the listing. * You'll be able to rate the business and leave a short comment if you choose. HOW TO WRITE A GOOD GOOGLE REVIEW FOR DESKTOP * Go to Google.com/maps * Find the company name by searching online * Click the listing * Click here for a review summary. * Click on "Submit Review" Alternatively, you can click on the star rating directly below the business's listing title. This will take you directly to the review pane, which has an option to write a review. To post reviews for either of these methods, you'll be prompted to give the business a rating of between one and five stars. You can then provide any additional comments or photos of the business. Finally, to post, just hit "Publishing." MAKE GOOGLE BUSINESS REVIEWS A REGULAR PART OF YOUR MARKETING STRATEGY. The fact is, shoppers, rely upon what others think about them. In reality, many believe that opinions posted by unknown individuals are just as trustworthy as evaluations written by close friends. Utilize that to your benefit. Make an effort to ask your clients to post testimonials for your company on Google. As long as you make it simple enough, you'll probably obtain far more Google client critiques on your site and reap all of the ranking, status, and income rewards they can provide.
