NATIONAL PROJECTS

Name of the Project: National Program for Improvement of Watercourses in
Pakistan (Phase-II) -The Punjab Component

Total Cost: Rs. 46,255.356 Million (PSDP = Rs. 10,256.768, ADP = Rs. 18,333.054,
and Farmers’ Contribution = Rs. 17,665.534 Million)

Gestation Period: Five Years (2019 - 20 to 2023 - 24)

TARGETS

Over the year, following targets are to be achieved:

 * Improvement of 2,500 Unimproved Watercourses
 * Additional Lining of 7,500 Already Improved Watercourses - up to 50 %
 * Provision of 9,500 LASER Land Leveling Units
 * Construction of 3,000 On-Farm Water Storage Tanks / Ponds

Name of the Project: National Program for Enhancing Profitability through
Increasing Productivity of Wheat

Total Cost: 16518.70 Million

Gestation Period: Five Years (2019 - 20 to 2023 - 24)

TARGETS

This project is aimed at achieving the following targets:

 * Provision of 259,832 tons of Gypsum to farmers on 50% subsidy for restoring
   86,610 acres of salt affected soil
 * Growing of Jantar in rice-wheat cropping system and incorporation into soil
   on 99,900 hectares
 * Provision of 4,007 Zero Tillage Drills, 6,680 Dry Sowing Drills, 2,374 Wattar
   Drills, 1187 Wheat Bed Planters and 1187 Slashers
 * Seed replacement by provision of 216,457 tons of certified wheat seed on
   subsidy for 4,329,140 acres
 * Weed management on 70% area i.e. 4,793,400 hectares
 * Laying out of 25000 Demonstration Plots
 * Holding of 300 Mega Gathering and 8333 Farmers Days on Demonstration Plots

Name of the Project: National Program for Enhancing Profitability through
Increasing Productivity of Rice

Total Cost: Rs. 9988.388 Million (Punjab Share: Rs. 4830.760 Million, Federal
Share: Rs. 1497.000 Million, Farmers’ Share: Rs. 3660.628 Million)

Gestation Period: Five Years (2019 - 20 to 2023 - 24)

TARGETS

This following targets are to be achieved on the completion of this project:

 * Provision of following Agricultural Machinery/Implements on 50% cost sharing
   basis: 
   * Riding type Transplanters (450 Nos.)
   * Walk-after type Transplanters (250 Nos.)
   * Nursery Raising Machines (450 Nos.)
   * Direct Seeding Rice Drills (900 Nos.)
   * Water Tight Rotavator (800 Nos.)
   * Rice Straw Chopper and Disc Plow/MB Plow Sets (750 Nos.)
   * Knapsack Power Sprayer (2450 Nos.)
 * Provision of Certified Seed on 50% cost sharing basis (229,285 Mounds)
 * Establishment of Demonstration Plots for showcasing (3,625 Nos.)
 * Provision of Financial Assistance to farmers @ Rs.1500/Acre for promoting
   Paddy Specific Harvesters (453,518 acres)
 * Provision of Weedicides on 30% cost sharing basis (725,200 acres)
 * Mega Farmer’s gatherings by Punjab Govt. (180 Nos.)
 * Provision of Micronutrients on 50% cost sharing basis (181,300 acres)
 * Appreciation of best rice growers at district level and provincial level
   through Rice Yield Competition (240 Nos.)

Name of the Project: National Oilseed Enhancement Program (NOEP)

Total Cost: 5114.999 Million

Gestation Period: Five Years  (2019-20 to 2023 - 24)

TARGETS

The project targets are as following:

 * Subsidy on Oilseed implements= 150 Units
 * Seed Subsidy(acres) = (Sesame = 360,000, Sunflower = 278,600, Canola =
   211,400)
 * Demonstration Plots (Sesame = 75, Sunflower = 150, Canola = 150)
 * Mega Farmers Gathering = 225 Total
 * Yield Competitions = (9 at divisional level , one at Provincial level each
   year)

Name of the Project: National Program for Enhancing Profitability through
Increasing Productivity of Sugarcane

Total Cost: 2726.900 Million

Gestation Period: Five Years (2019 - 20 to 2023 - 24)

TARGETS

The following target have been set for this project: 

 * No. of implements to be distributed on 50% subsidy = 5025
 * No. of demonstration plots established = 2960
 * No. of mega farmer gatherings to be held = 270
 * No. of farmer days to be held = 986
 * No. of acres subsidized for zinc sulphate = 297010
 * No. of acres subsidized for inter cropping September planting = 13000
 * No. of sugarcane yield competition winner farmer rewarded = 168
 * No. of bio-agent cards to be increased over annual target = 1012500
