WELCOME TO THE SKOAP STUDY Learn how SKOAP clinical trial participants are helping advance science and improve outcomes in people with Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA) pain. WHAT IS THE SKOAP STUDY? The SKOAP Study is a Sequenced strategy for improving outcomes in people with Knee OsteoArthritis Pain (SKOAP). It is a national study funded by The Helping to End Addiction Long-term® Initiative, or NIH HEAL Initiative®. SKOAP compares non-opioid pain treatments with the goal of reducing KOA pain and improving function to find out what treatments work best for which patients. SKOAP participants may also earn up to $550 for completing study activities. Learn More MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STUDY Be 18 years or older Be diagnosed with Knee Osteoarthritis in at least one of your knees Experienced pain in that knee for most days in the past 3 months Willing to travel to one of our 15+ SKOAP Study locations nationwide SKOAP Study participants will be randomized into one of three treatment arms. These are typically covered by insurance, but you will have to pay your usual copay. Are you comfortable using your insurance for SKOAP Study treatments? Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA) occurs when the cartilage that cushions your knee joint wears down with time or from trauma. See FAQs IS THE SKOAP STUDY COVERED BY INSURANCE?
