The CEO of Radisson Blu and Radisson Blu Towers Kaushambi Delhi NCR, Navneet
Jain, opined that while AI and automation offer significant benefits, such as
cost savings and enhanced guest experiences, they also require careful
consideration of labour impacts, ethics, and the preservation of human
interaction in hospitality. The industry is being reshaped by AI, which
personalises guest interactions from reservations to stay experiences.
AI-powered tools like chatbots assist with bookings, inquiries, and
recommendations, while automation speeds up processes such as check-ins and
check-outs, reducing wait times. According to a recent survey, 58% of guests
believe AI has greatly improved their overall experience.
Furthermore, AI is improving hotel security through facial recognition and
surveillance systems. Automation is also streamlining operations, such as
managing reservations, pricing, and marketing, allowing staff to focus on more
guest-centered tasks. Tools like automated revenue management systems adjust
pricing based on demand, optimizing hotel revenue. The global market for AI in
hospitality is projected to reach $70.32 billion by 2031.
However, Jain emphasized that while AI and automation are transforming
operations, they cannot replace the personal touch essential to exceptional
hospitality. Striking the right balance between technology and human interaction
is key to thriving in the AI-driven future of the industry.
