Celebrating the Day of the Seafarer! Today, we honour the vital role of
seafarers in keeping the maritime industry safe. This year, the International
Maritime Organisation (IMO) highlights that seafarers are the frontline of
maritime safety.At Wilhelmsen, we are dedicated to creating a safe working
environment. In 2023, our 11,340 seafarers clocked 37.5 million work hours with
a lost-time injury frequency (LTIF) rate of 0.35, within our target of 0.40.We
strive for continuous improvement in safety. Alongside ongoing health and safety
initiatives, Wilhelmsen Ship Management run campaigns focused on loss prevention
and safety basics, especially as new vessels come into management and seafarers
join our team. Annual officer conferences bring together key stakeholders to
inspire and enable management to engage seafarers in safety matters, build a

What a fun group to host 🤝
Meet Espen, the captain of Dawn Patrol, a serious cycling group that kicks off
at 5:30 am to tackle 60km routes around Nøtterøy, Norway – his hometown and the
location of Wilhelmsen Chemicals (WIC). By day, Espen is the Environment and
Quality Manager at WIC. He ensures that this local manufacturer and distributor
of chemicals addresses ESG impacts, risks, and opportunities in products and
operations. Espen and the team are working to reduce the use of virgin plastic
in packaging. As an active member of Grønt Punkt Norge, they’ve recently
achieved 30% recycled plastic in selected packaging. “To achieve this, we needed
to work hard with R&D, purchase and other stakeholders to remain not only
compliant, but leading in our market.” Espen also leads various other
operational initiatives, such as steering their ISO certifications. Just this
spring, WIC was re-certified under the ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 environmental and
quality standards for environmental management systems. Espen’s passion for the

Posidonia, the biennale international shipping exhibition, takes place in Greece
– a country with a rich maritime history and a major global shipping hub.
Wilhelmsen has been present in Greece since 1972! Today, with 130 professionals

of a new financing solution for port and crew services in collaboration with

One of their standout innovations has been the ‘Snap Back Arrestor’ (SBA™) rope,
the first and only qualified SBA™ rope designed to enhance seafarer safety.The
team of skilled and dedicated professionals at the Wilhelmsen owned Timm ropes
factory in Trenčín, Slovakia, has built up a deep knowledge of ropemaking and

Good news! Pelagus 3D, our joint venture company with thyssenkrupp, has signed a
strategic collaboration agreement with Immensa, the largest digital manufacturer
in the Middle East and North Africa, to develop spare parts for the maritime and
energy industries. The partnership aims to streamline supply chain processes,
expand original equipment manufacturer (OEM) networks, and deliver significant
improvements in service provision to end users in the Middle East and North
Africa. "Immensa seeks to be world-class in everything it does: technology,
strategy, execution, talent, and its partners. Today’s news brings two
world-class partners together and we look forward to working closely with
Pelagus 3D – which is developing the largest database of spare parts for
additive manufacturing in the maritime and offshore industry - to transform
inventory management across sectors,” added Fahmi Al-Shawwa, CEO of
Immensa.“This marks a significant milestone in our mission to drive the adoption
