CX-60 PROBLEMS 194567 Views 1603 Replies 121 Participants Last post by andyG, a moment ago Jump to Latest ASH8 Discussion starter · Sep 23, 2022 (Edited) * Add to quote * Share Only show this user Well the all new CX-60 has been released in EU and UK and soon Australia etc. As there is no sub forum or specific dedicated CX-60 Forum URL (IMO there should be as the CX-70 is not the same car) there have been a number of production issues on release with this model. 1) There was a stop sale related to the non production install @ Mazda Japan factory of a 20 AMP Safety Fuse in rear of trunk in related to cars main Battery in CX-60 PHEV, hopefully ALL should have been rectified before being sold to customers with the installation of a 20 AMP Fuse module. 2) All Shock Absorbers front and rear and the Front and Rear Sway Bars were installed @ Mazda Factory with not ideal specifications resulting of a bumpy wallowing ride comfort on undulating roads, and on paved roads a hard feel inside cabin resulting in unstable ride, The fix is to renew all shocks and sway bars front and rear. 3) Cars Infotainment System (Mazda Connect) on initial production shipment (about 300 cars) had out of specification Firmware Version 12006 was installed and requires updating to correct CMU_7000C0A-EU07_14004.kwi firmware. Again this should have been updated by the selling Mazda Dealer, however I have already been contacted by an owner in Europe where his Mazda Connect was not updated. I subsequently on his request supplied him with correct file 14004 with full update instructions (very easy), you WILL need a USB C Flash Drive preferably as small as you can get below 32GB. (do not use USB A to C Adapter). To find out what version of Firmware for your Mazda Connect is in your CX-60 do the following.. 1. Turn the ignition to ACC or to ON. 2. Select ”Settings” on the Home screen. 3. Select “System Setting”. 4. Select “System Information”. 5. Select “Version Information”. 6. See 'System Software' Version Number like 12004 is revealed, it should be 14004 or higher, if it is lower than 14004 then you can update it. Same here. Like the rear windows were open and at certain speed. Not sure if it causes a tiny bit of vibration to the car as well although it that could be my imagination. But the noise is certainly there and I wish it gets repaired. Dealer has not answered yet. For my it doesn't matter if I drive on EV or ICE it is speed related problem. Is Takumi or Homura the model? I have Homura and no noise. I also have the sunroof. maybe it matters, I say. Years (decades) ago I had something similar and it was a combination of tracking and wheel bearing play. I would be interested if only Takumi does. it would be a deflector something different compared to the other model. not to be something trivial. I had an Infinity Fx and at over 160 km/h it was making a noise just like you say, and it was from the exterior door seals, which were soft and at certain currents they vibrated on the body. About 15 years ago I had a rover coupe which had a glass targa roof. When you took the roof off these wind deflectors were supposed to pop up but if they failed (let's face it it was a rover) you'd get the same noise at certain speeds. I want to have a look at how well that moveable front grill is installed. Wouldn't surprisr me to find out that it was letting by at certain speeds causing the noise. It would be worth comparing front end photos to a quiet one. Same here, it doesn't matter in which mode you´re driving. The funny thing is and i hope you have noticed it to, is the fact that it almost fully disappears when the car is warm. Also the colder the temp is outside and the longer the car has sat still, the louder it is to start with. It´s defiantly coming from the rear end, as said, the German Mazda dealers suspect the propshaft. I´m awaiting on the go ahead from Mazda Germany about getting mine checked and if need be balanced / replaced. Edit; My CX-60 is a Homura without the panorama roof, from early Nov 22. It seems that only a specific batch from the Oct-Nov cars have this problem. It might come from almost anywhere but still somewhere bottom/rear end of the car. Propshaft is a good guess. (anyway, after the last intervention with the suspension change and the updates carried out, the car changed. They are interested in solving it, but in their style. Trust me, they are serious in my opinion that they will solve it). They would have changed the supplier to something, cardan, planetary, differential. Looks like we're talking about the same thing. Drive shaft/Propshaft. My service was already doing propshaft turning and rebalancing. No changes. As I wrote before, they used drivetrain components from the demo car one by one. After changing propshaft all problems disappeared!! Hence, the service is sure that the problem is the propshaft. I am currently waiting for a new one to arrive as there is no spare one in stock. Hard to see how warming up affects a shaft balance, exposed to ambient air as it is. I did wonder if it was a body shell resonance. Do people with the insulated door get it? I´ve had the doors done (all 4) and yes my car still suffers with it. Like i said previously, it seems to only be a few cars that were produced between Oct-Nov 22. Mine was a Sept delivery and had a bad throb/2 stroke sound at around 30 mph from day 1. Not everytime and I couldn't find a pattern. After the suspension and software updates I had the 35 45 range noise but it went away. Mine had the new suspension fitted as it was built, software is up-to-date. It´s defiantly something todo with the Prop shaft / Drivetrain. I´ve just been given a appointment from my dealer, they say they have a fix for it since this morning. Let´s see what they do and if it´s fixed, i will let you know here. More precisely, I feel vibrations between 50-75 km/h and a noise like I would have the rear left window open. For the vibrations I went to a dealer, they did not noticed them so nothing happened. For the noise, I thought it was related to the left rear winter tyre, since the dealer told me that that specific tyre is noisy and the tyre should be changed (the thing is that the tyre is a Goodyear, I bought it brand new and it was well balanced when it was installed). When is cold outside, the vibrations are more noticeable than in warmer days. I feel them the best in cold mornings when I leave from home and use the car for the first time. After a couple of km, the intensity level of the vibrations drops. When is warm outside and you drove a little bit, I feel them less. I dont know exactly when the car was manufactured, the CoC certificate was sent to the leasing company. Will ask the dealer I bought it from to confirm me the date and will reply here. Anyway, it's quite reliefing since I am not the only one noticing this faults (the dealer said that there were no complaints on this issue and he did not noticed any vibrations), I thought I was the one who had a problem. That is exactly what Im experiencing. Have an appointment on monday with my dealer/service. I really hope they look into it and not just state that "its normal" or "we didnt notice anything special". Paid 65k for the car so this really isnt okay. I can accept the doors, suspension and mirrors etc but not this.. im a bit dissapointed atm I must admit. My car has been recalled and is booked in on coming Monday, they have explained the "fix" to me and its quite a bit of work. I´ll keep you updated on how its goes, currently the car will be at the dealers for four days . I suppose that´s for the fix and testing as it´s only been done on one car here. I can tell you it´s nothing to do with wheel balance, tyres, drive shafts or the prop shaft on its own.
