When I say I loved this book, I mean LOVED! This is such an incredible resource
for parents (whether they have one child or many!) as well as teachers/daycare
staff looking to implement the Montessori method in their practice. I loved how
Suzuki explained what Montessori is all about in a language that is easy for
anyone to understand prior to jumping in to the “meat and potatoes”. This is a
critical concept to understand before reading the rest of the book and I
appreciate the time she took to thoroughly explain it. Whether you’re an expert
at the Montessori method, or this is your first time hearing about it, you will
be able to have a better understanding of the topic after the first few pages!
As a first time mom to my own son, I found it so difficult to know how to
implement this in the home setting and from such a young age. I love the parent
testimonies and the example activities she provides. All around such a well
written book and I’m excited to continue to reference this as my son grows!
Background: I’m a first time mom to a 10 month old boy and I have a degree in
Early Childhood Education with a specialty certification for infants and
toddlers.

Love, love this book.
I'm a first-time parent and I'm new to learning about the Montessori Parenting
Method.
This book is amazing! The author tackles all important points and covers the
sensitive periods in each growing stage from mainly infants to 6 yrs old.
It was a very fluid and smooth reading... finished within a day.
Easy to grasp, especially felt emotional and touched when I read all the
positive testimonies of parents after each statement presented.
A well written book, she even includes activities for each age group.
Which is a great help when we as parents don't know where to even begin.
Many of my questions were answered, I really hope yours will be as well.
I enjoyed it and learned a lot.
Definitely recommend purchasing this book or gifting it.

I am a first time mom to a 15 month old trying to implement the montessori
method in our lives. Since I am fairly new to this I often have felt lost and
discouraged when I lack creative ideas to activities we can do, but this book
has helped me so much especially because it comes with an activity list labeled
with age groups. This book was not only engaging, but it was straight to the
point which allowed me to read it easily and quickly. My favorite part was the
parent testimonies written across the book as they were encouraging and made me
feel seen as a parent. I definitely recommend this book if you want to learn
more about the montessori method and need a few activity ideas.

The author did a great job creating a connection with the reader, you can
literally feel her beautiful energy within the paragraphs. I felt so empowered
as I read her words. Its an easy read with colloquial language (this is
important since I have a language barrier). Its practical, as soon as you start
reading you START LEARNING MONTESSORI. I love that she gives great ideas to
start as you read, also within the book there’s real life testimonials which
motivated me so much. I have a 15 mo. old and the activity list at the end of
the book will keep us busy till she’s 5!!!! How awesome is that? There’s
practically all you need to know in this book, no brainer, have it all in one
spot.

This book provides an overview of the Montessori philosophy and its main
methods. It is a good resource for someone who is just starting to get to know
Montessori, especially if they are in a supporting role in a child's life, like
a grandparent or aunt/uncle.
The first part of the book discusses the philosophy and main practices, the
second part is a list of activities. This is not an "open-and-go curriculum" for
the activities but a great reference list. This list is broken into sections by
age and topic (i.e. Language and Communication Activities, Outdoor and Nature
Activities, Motor Skill Development Activities, etc.), each activity including a
short description, the benefits of said activity (this is VERY helpful), and a
couple of ways to take it to the next level. This list is a great reference for
someone who is committed (or intends to be committed) to providing such
nurturing activities to the children in their care. I will probably use it as my
guide to select from them daily for my children. However, the descriptions are
not enough to actually know what you need to do. You will probably need other
sources for that.
I also would have loved to see some pictures, as Montessori materials and
methods are quite unique. Photos or drawings could provide clarity as well as
inspiration for those who are just starting out on their Montessori journey.
Over all it is a good place to start (I'm considering giving it to my children's
grandparents), and the activity list is a great resource.

I have read 3 Montessori books so far… now I’m working on this one. I really
appreciate that this book is all I need from 0-5 years instead of 0-3. It’s a
plus when there’s a list of activities I can look as my child grows. It is an
easy read, straight to the point kind of book by having a short insightful
informations that we, as a busy parent, need for a quick read. So far, I’m
reading the “sensitive period” pages and I’m trying to follow particular
sections for my 13 months old tot, so I won’t miss the window of supporting her
growth and learning at her sensitive period.

This book is everything I needed it to be. It tells me the history of the method
in different contexts, it tells me the why behind a lot of the philosophies
associated with the Montessori method, and it gives you practical applications
of the method as well as stories told by other parents who have exercised the
method in their real lives. This is a one-stop-shop kind of book and for a first
time Mom who had NO CLUE where to start I am going to recommend this to anyone I
know interested in Montessori. Highly, highly suggest getting!
