MEET OUR FOUNDERS

Mathias Leijon
Founder & President
Mathias has over 25 years of experience in investment and finance. Before
founding ROYC, he served as the Global Head of Corporates, Institutions, and
Investment Banking at Nordea, overseeing a division with €1.7bn in revenues and
a €50bn lending book.

His prior roles include Head of Fundamental Equities at Nordea Asset Management,
which manages €300bn in AUM, and senior portfolio management positions at Pictet
and the Stena family office.


Octavian Popescu
Founder & Co-CEO
Octavian has over 18 years of experience in direct private markets investing.
Before founding ROYC, he served as a Managing Director at Blackstone, the
world’s largest alternative asset manager, managing assets worth over $1
trillion. 



As part of the Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Fund, a $34 billion flexible
investment strategy, he executed numerous large and complex transactions. 



His prior roles include serving as a Private Equity Investor at Neuberger Berman
and working in Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions at Bank of America.
