NBOC HOSTS NEW BEDFORD ECOSYSTEM TOUR FOR BLUE TECH COMPANIES

In late February, the NBOC attended the Blue Innovation Symposium in Newport,
Rhode Island. The BIS is the region’s premier blue technology event and truly
keeps with its mantra of “by the industry, for the industry.” Read more.

 

NBOC Attends Seafood Expo North America

NBOC Business Development Manager, Carlos Avila, attended the Seafood Expo in
Boston, March 10-12, the largest seafood trade show in North America. The expo
showcased over 1,200 seafood companies representing importers, exporters, and
processors from over 45 nations and provided the NBOC a great opportunity to
network with local fisheries and processing partners from New Bedford. Read

NBOC Executive Director Gives Closing Keynote at Women on the Water Conference

On March 2nd, Jennifer Downing, NBOC Executive Director, delivered the closing
keynote address at the 12th Annual Women on the Water Conference organized by
the Massachusetts Maritime Academy at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. The
conference aims to connect cadets, professionals and faculty of the maritime
industry. This year’s event had over 50 speakers and topics that spanned
work-life balance, clean energy, deep sea, shore-side opportunities and more.

SETTING THE STAGE FOR THE U.S. OFFSHORE WIND INDUSTRY

Vineyard Wind is constructing the nation’s first, large-scale offshore wind
project. With 62 turbines planned for development off the coast of Martha’s
Vineyard, Vineyard Wind chose the Port of New Bedford to be the project’s
