STOP WASTING YOUR TIME ON YOUTUBE LOOKING FOR ART TUTORIALS

Did you know most Youtube tutorials teach the wrong way to draw? Artists don't
start with Sharpie outlines. They start with fundamentals in shape, line, and
form instead. I know kids are smart, so I teach them the essentials that pros
really use in kid-friendly accessible ways.

STOP STRESSING ABOUT HOW YOUR CHILD SPENDS THEIR SCREENTIME

My classes are supportive, age-appropriate, and fully engaging. All you need is
a device with an internet connection and Zoom. Your child will be busy
actively creating, not just passively consuming, like most people do with their
screens.

STOP WORRYING
ABOUT MESSY
ART SUPPLIES

All you need for my classes is paper,
a pencil, an eraser, and a black marker or pen (Sharpies work great).

MEET THE TEACHER

DANIEL GRISSOM, M.A.

With fifteen years of experience teaching in schools around the world, Daniel
knows what it takes to nurture a child's imagination, talents, and unique,
creative voice. He has taught over 2000 students in his online classes within
the last two years, and he loves sharing his creative passions.

He created Kids Cartoon Academy to ensure that other children don't abandon
their inner, creative child as they grow up, as he once did. It was only as an
adult that he rediscovered his love of art and it changed his life. So as a
career educator, he designed an academy to help other children nurture their
most creative, authentic selves as they maneuver through childhood, adolescence,
and into adulthood. With a wide and varied experience as a classroom teacher, he
uses scientifically proven methods to create a fun and engaging classroom that
invites students to deep learning and transformative results.

When he's not teaching, you'll find him drawing (of course), reading, watching
sports, smoking barbecue, traveling, or being silly with his wife and two
daughters.

"DANIEL IS MUCH MORE THAN AN ART TEACHER. HE HAS IGNITED A PASSION IN MY SON
THAT BURNS BRIGHT. ABOVE ALL ELSE THOUGH, DANIEL HAS HELPED HIM TO RECOGNIZE HIS
WORTH AND TO BELIEVE IN HIMSELF ONCE AGAIN."

-PARENT LINDSEY REID

DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.

WE TEACH MORE THAN JUST ART

KIDS CARTOON ACADEMY GIVES CHILDREN A WAY TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES AND SHARE THEIR
THOUGHTS AND IDEAS WITH OTHERS.

It provides a medium for children to illustrate and demonstrate what is on their
mind, and allows them to showcase their creativity and unique perspectives.
Through art, children can communicate their feelings and experiences in a way
that words may not be able to capture. This can be a valuable outlet for
children as they grow and develop, and can help them better understand and
process their emotions and experiences.

KIDS CARTOON ACADEMY USES A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO EDUCATING THE WHOLE CHILD.

By accommodating a variety of learning styles through research-backed methods of
teaching, Kids Cartoon Academy is able to engage children in ways that help them
learn more effectively and deeply. Our approach allows students to develop
cognitive skills that may not be possible through traditional academic classes.
This comprehensive approach to education can help children grow and develop in
ways that go beyond just academics, and can set them up for success in a variety
of fields.

THE KIDS CARTOON ACADEMY PROGRAM RECOGNIZES THE VALUE OF ART IN HELPING CHILDREN
DEVELOP IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES THAT CAN SERVE THEM WELL IN THE FUTURE.

Through artistic pursuits, children are able to learn to think for themselves,
consider multiple viewpoints, and explore a range of possibilities. In the
program's classroom, students are encouraged to see things in a different way
and think creatively. This type of thinking can help children to become more
confident and independent thinkers, and can have a positive impact on their
social and academic success. The program fosters a supportive and engaging
environment where children can take risks without fear of failure, and thrive as
they explore their interests and passions.

OUR STUDENTS MAKE IMPROVEMENTS IN THEIR FINE MOTOR SKILLS ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
DEVELOPING THESE SKILLS IS ESSENTIAL FOR YOUNG LEARNERS TO THRIVE IN TRADITIONAL
EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS.

Developing these skills is essential for young learners to thrive in traditional
educational settings. We regularly have 8 year old students, for example, who
follow my detailed and meticulous drawing tutorials for over an hour
straight—developing their hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and
concentration. When fine motor skills are improved, children are better able to
physically execute the ideas and concepts that they have in their minds. As a
result, our students are able to communicate with more confidence. This can be
incredibly beneficial for their overall success in school and beyond.

THE KIDS CARTOON ACADEMY'S DRAWING CLASSES ARE DESIGNED TO ENGAGE AND ENTERTAIN
CHILDREN WHILE ALSO STIMULATING AND ENHANCING THE RIGHT SIDE OF THEIR BRAINS
THROUGH ART.

Each week, the classes offer child-friendly and relevant subject matter that is
intended to spark children's interest and improve their knowledge retention. It
is important to note that children tend to learn best when they are actively
involved and having fun, and the Kids Cartoon Academy's classes are structured
with this in mind. This comprehensive approach to education can help children
develop a wide range of skills and set them up for success in the future.

THE KIDS CARTOON ACADEMY PROGRAM PROVIDES AN INCLUSIVE AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT
WHERE CHILDREN CAN ENGAGE IN SOLITARY ARTISTIC PURSUITS WHILE ALSO BUILDING
RELATIONSHIPS IN A TEAM-LIKE SETTING.

Through art, children can connect with their emotions, express themselves,
understand others, and reflect on their work. They learn how to appreciate,
reflect, and even critique other students’ work, as well as their own. They
learn from their mistakes and grow as artists, students, and citizens. Students
find themselves not only growing as artists themselves, but cheering on their
classmates.

FAQS

WHAT TIME ARE THE CLASSES?

For Saturday Cartoon Club, classes are held every Saturday at the following
times:

For ages 6-9:

 * 11 am EST (8 am PST // 4 pm UK)

For ages 10-14:

 * 12 pm EST (9 am PST // 5 pm UK)

Note: Age recommendations are flexible and are only intended to demonstrate the
general pace of the lesson. For example, an experienced 8 year old artist could
join the 10-13 year old class.

DO I NEED TO PAY SEPARATELY FOR SIBLINGS?

No. For the Kids Cartoon Academy membership, one subscription purchase is good
for the whole family.

For our TOONIVERSITY small group classes, you must purchase the $20 sibling
add-on if siblings will be joining.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

After purchasing your subscription, you will be directed to instructions on how
you can access all your content (including your Zoom link/s).

All you need is a device with an internet connection and Zoom, paper, pencil,
eraser, black marker, and some coloring utensils.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS A CLASS?

I understand that life happens, and your child might not be able to attend every
session. Don't worry. You have access to replays for every session for the
duration of your membership.

DO YOU ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL CURRENCIES?

We accept USD, and if you pay in another currency, such as CAD, Euros, or INR,
your bank will probably charge a small 1-4% conversion fee.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?

You can cancel your membership at any time on your own from the membership
portal.

DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO SHOW THEIR FACE ON CAMERA?

Nope! We have plenty of students who are more comfortable with their cameras
off. Of course, if you want to volunteer or get feedback on your art, the camera
should be on.

WILL MY CHILD GET INDIVIDUAL FEEDBACK ON THEIR ART?

There are hundreds of kids in each class, so unfortunately we don't have time to
give feedback on every child's art. Short, simple feedback is given to the class
as a whole, and sometimes to individual students at random.

If you'd like individual feedback on your child's art, then check out my small
group classes where each child gets personalized attention and feedback on their
work.

WHY IS ENROLLMENT FOR THE MEMBERSHIP CLOSED RIGHT NOW?

There is a specific reason the registration is only available for a short period
of time. I like spending more of my time serving my students and families vs.
promoting to potential customers. So like any other college, university, or
academy, enrollment is only open for a short period of time. Then I shift gears
to focus my energy on teaching, supporting, and helping my members grow as
confident young artists.
