The 17-year-old Manhattan Kickers soccer squad was originally scheduled to play FA Euro New York last weekend at the city's Thomas Jefferson Park. However, when both teams arrived, a group of about 30 migrants refused to leave the premises, arguing that they didn't have to, leading to not only the game being canceled, but now a safety concern for the teams. "I directly asked them [the migrants] to leave the field and some of them kind of took it into consideration, but then four or five of them said, ‘You know what, F*** it, we don’t have to leave, we can do whatever we want,'" Kickers head coach Erik Johansson told the New York Post. If that wasn't bad enough, the migrants refused to leave even after the NYPD showed up. That's how far the respect for law enforcement has fallen thanks to bail reform and other policies set forth by the city's pandering politicians - there is literally no fear of repercussions or punishment. New York City has welcomed an enormous amount of migrants. (Photo by: Deb Cohn-Orbach/UCG/Universal Images Group via Getty Images) UNFAIR AND UNJUST Both soccer teams ended up having to cancel the game entirely as the situation went from an inconvenience to a potential safety concern. "Even when the game is over, you don’t know if they [the migrants] are waiting for you, so even if the cops kicked them out, it may not be over. So we just all agreed, this is too dangerous," Coach Johansson continued. Both teams said they won't return to those fields anymore. You can expect situations like this to only increase in the coming weeks and months as the city has no plan to deal with the increasing number of people coming to the city - many of whom are unvetted and some who have a criminal history. Last year, the city ordered various youth football and soccer fields to be shut down because they had to be used as housing for the migrants. PEOPLE FEEL UNSAFE Youth sports have typically been seen as an escape for troubled young people that don't want to get caught up with gangs. However, now that outlet has been taken away from them to house illegal immigrants instead. Last year, NYC Mayor Eric Adams said that the city had a $12 billion deficit, much in part due to the migrant situation that he now says is out of control. Once again everyone, this is why elections have consequences.
