UNDERSTANDING YOUR KOODO BILL CREDITS
In your current bill, when you get a one-time bill credit or a credit that
recurs on a temporary basis, it includes the applicable taxes charged in your
province. This means it’s displayed on your bill as the “including tax” value.
In your future bill, tax-included credits applied on and after February 27,
2020, will be displayed differently on your bill to show you more clearly how
taxes are calculated and shown on bills when it comes to credits. This is our
way of being as transparent as possible for our customers.
In the applicable section of the bill, you’ll see an updated bill description
together with the dollar value for the service component of the credit*. The
remainder will be shown as a reduction in taxes**.
Let's say you’re in Ontario and were offered a $10 credit for activating a new
subscriber with Koodo. Here’s how it would be broken down in your bill:
The amount shown on the bill as an Activation credit ($10 including tax)* -$8.85
The amount that the HST (13%) is reduced by** $1.15
Let's say you’re in Quebec and were offered a $10 credit for activating a new
subscriber with Koodo. Here’s how it would be broken down in your bill:
The amount shown on the bill as an Activation credit ($10 including tax)*
-$8.70 The amount that the QST (9.975%) is reduced by**
The amount that the GST (5%) is reduced by** $.87
$.43
This is a surface-level change that won’t change the value of the credit you’ll
receive or the outstanding amount you owe. So, the bill credits line on your
invoice will look different, but your total amount owing will still be the same.
FAQ
How long does it take for a credit to appear on my bill, so that I can pay the
correct amount prior to my bill due date?
Credits won’t immediately be reflected in your Self Serve account and will show
only when your next bill is issued.
