<p>The Defense Department of the United States is taking action to secure critical data that companies use to fulfill Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) is highly sought by our
adversaries to steal US intellectual property. This allows them to match war fighting capability at pennies on the dollar. And millions of dollars of CUI are exfiltrated each year.</p>
<p>The defense industry base is made up of hundreds of thousands of companies that now must become compliant to the Cyber Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) to continue the ability to work on DoD projects. In 2020, DoD established
the CMMC Accreditation Body and Industry Working Group to develop the program. The program is nearing completion, so early adapters should get trained now to take advantage of a huge market opportunity.<br> CMMC certification
requires they meet all the CMMC practices and assessment objectives. Then, they must be assessed by an independent third-party assessor organization. Assessment teams have at least one Certified 3rd Party Assessor (C3PAO) and may
have several Certified Cyber Professionals (CCP).</p>
