more than 600 days. Large water users such as semiconductors, PCBs, and panels
are on alert. Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Meihua said on the 8th that the
Central Disaster Response Center for Drought has started operation, and the
drought relief plan will also increase 136,000 tons of water per day for the
south by digging wells for combat preparation before the end of April.



The Water Conservancy Administration stated that the Tainan Anping Reclaimed
Water Plant has entered test operation in February and will provide another
10,000 tons per day to the Nanke Tainan Park. Currently, it is actively planning
to increase the existing water supply by another 10,000 tons per day for
emergency drought relief. Measures to cope with the drought, so that the
industry's water supply is safe.

The Central Drought Response Center decided to adjust the Kaohsiung water regime
light signal, starting from the 8th, to adjust it to a yellow light for
decompression water supply during off-peak hours at night, and large industrial
households to save water by 7%. After operation, it can ensure that TSMC, ASE
and other major technology companies have no worries about subsequent water use.
ASE stated that the reclaimed water plant in the Kaohsiung plant area is
operating normally, and the decompression water supply in the Kaohsiung area
will not affect operations.

According to ASE, the tap water used in the total water consumption of the
Kaohsiung plant is about 14,000 tons, and the proportion of tap water used in
the Kaohsiung plant is less than 28%, which is the lowest dependence and reduces
the impact of the dry season. The recycling plant recycles with a recycling
capacity of 72%, and can recycle 16,000 tons per day, which is equivalent to
using more than 3.5 times per drop of water in the Kaohsiung plant. When the tap
water is cut off, the water shortage resilience can be greater than 72 hours.

Innolux’s speech channel pointed out that Kaohsiung’s water situation has been
grasped for a long time, and relevant contingency plans have been planned in
advance. At present, it cooperates with the public sector’s independent
water-saving policy to promote water-saving measures. The water-saving rate
meets the requirements and does not affect operations.

There was a severe drought in Taiwan the year before last. At that time, the
panel factory already had multiple sets of scripts to deal with it. The process
water recovery rate of Innolux’s Taiwan factory area was as high as 97% on
average. At the same time, there were different contingency plans for different
situations, including the use of recycled water in Yongkang and mobile water
recycling systems. Renting, etc., can meet the 10% water saving rate
requirement, and if it really enters the water limit, water trucks can be
dispatched to respond.

Taijun, a soft board factory in Kaohsiung, said that the industrial area where
the company is located has not yet been decompressed, but it has received a
notice to prepare for water storage, so it has made an appointment with a water
truck manufacturer for emergencies. In the off-season of the industry, the
company will also plan the production schedule and concentrate production as
much as possible to achieve the effect of water saving. Hardboard factory Nan
Zidian said that the company has water storage and uses relatively little water
at night, and it is the traditional off-season, so it is not expected to be
affected. Taihong, a flexible copper foil substrate manufacturer, said that
since the process does not require water, it is mainly used for people's
livelihood. The company has prepared water storage tanks in the past and can
respond at any time.
