ALERTATHON 2021 IN A NEW AVATAR – A GLOBAL VIRTUAL EVENT




The pandemic has severely impacted sporting events worldwide, but ALERTATHON is
keeping with the times. We’ve turned from an ordinary marathon to something
altogether different – in a first, ALERTATHON 2021 will be a 100% decentralized
virtual event where each participant will get the opportunity to run the
marathon anywhere in the world during a chosen time.

ALERATHON still has the same mission though – to use sports as a means to reach
out to fitness enthusiasts; walkers, runners, and cyclists and raise awareness
about the importance of emergency care and first aid. But this time, our cause
wouldn’t be limited to one event in a single city.

Even in well-developed nations where formal emergency response systems are far
more developed, first-aid skills are of undisputed value. Anybody from anywhere
in the world can run the ALERTATHON this year. This pandemic has been a painful
reminder to every person – regardless of their country – to be prepared to deal
with emergencies.

The new ALERTATHON will bind everyone in spirit through this decentralized and
yet closely bound global event. In this edition, participants also have an
opportunity to learn various first-aid and life-saving skills through a series
of webinar sessions and web educational content as well.

The event window will coincide on the World First Aid Day; Saturday, September
11th, 2021.

TAKE ON THE MISSION TO SAVE LIVES

This pandemic has been a painful reminder to every person around the world to
prepared to deal with emergencies. Participate & learn from our first-aid and
emergency care webinars & encourage others.

RUN, WALK & BIKE ALL YOU CAN FOR 2 DAYS

Participate in the 2-day-long Virtual Save Lives event. Every kilometre that you
cover matters so make it count! You’re contributing to an important cause!

ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD AT ANY TIME

Being a virtual event, you are free to run or ride wherever & whenever you want
without being bound by any limitations.


USE THE WORLD-CLASS VIRTUAL EVENT PLATFORM

We’ve teamed up with HDOR to bring you this experience! Once registered for the
event, you will be able to download the official HDOR app from Play Store / App
Store to link your Strava account and prepare for the event.

SUBMIT YOUR ACTIVITY DATA ONCE THE EVENT BEGINS!

You will need to digitally record your progress using Strava or a similar app
and upload it to our app. Sumbit your activities and don’t forget to check your
progress on the leaderboards!


EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

 * You have the freedom to choose the place and time for your walk, run or ride,
   in roads, trails or mountains!

 * A digital finisher certificate with your cumulative distance and ranking!
   also with all the courses that you have completed.

 * Digital achievement leaderboard with information of how your contributions
   are counted.

 * Option to order a designer ALERTATHON SAVE LIVES T-Shirt & a beautifully
   crafted finisher medal (available only in India)

 * Opportunity to learn the First-Aid, activating the emergency response
   mechanisms and calling the Emergency Medical Services (EMS). These are the
   very basic steps for saving lives.
