people, chromebooks aren't that bad!

they browse the web buttery-smooth, and their battery lasts just about forever.
they're locked down by default, but you can just install the Linux VM and have a
fully functional Linux install. and they're weak, but they're not that weak.
they browse the web fine, and can even run some fairly heavy stuff like IntelliJ
IDEA on the 4GB+ models!

plus, they're usually pretty decent to use. the keyboards aren't usually that
great, but they're fine, and the touchpads are too. frankly, it's impressive
that you can get such decent machines for $100 refurbished and like-new usually,
it's a whole lot better than the $300-400 laptop market with the same Celerons
running Windows 10 S.

edit: well uh since this blew up, can someone link me to some good resources for
ZFS and maybe be willing to answer questions about it as i figure it out?
