Travellers and Citizens can bookmark our website for quick access. ABOUT THE HIGH COMMISSIONER A Fellow of the Nigeria Chartered Institute of Management (FCIM), His Excellency, Amb. Henry John Omaku was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. John Ose Omaku of the Famous Oshatta Omaku Oboshi (Late Galadiman Doma) family in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He attended RCM Primary School Doma and later completed his primary education at LGEA Primary School Tudun Wada, Jos. Henry John Omaku started his secondary education at Government Secondary School Tudun Wada Jos, and later moved to Government College Jengre in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State where he completed and obtained his WAEC/SSCE. In his quest to attain higher western education, Henry John Omaku was admitted into one of the greatest citadel of academic excellence in Nigeria; the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) Nigeria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and a Master’s in Public Administration. His search for more knowledge led him into securing another admission at the Benue State University, Makurdi where he successfully completed his course work for another Masters of Science degree in Political Science. Amb. Henry John Omaku (FCIM), started his working career with STOP CANCER FOUNDATION, an Abuja based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) as a Program Manager and later worked in AGABI FOUNDATION in Lafia, also as a Program Manager His desire for selfless service to humanity and for touching lives positively endeared him into politics in order to have better opportunities of actualizing his dreams. This indeed was actualized in 2014 when he contested and won election as the Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. After a successful tenure as the Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government Area, His Excellency, the Governor of Nasarawa State Umaru Tanko Almakura, appointed Amb. Henry John Omaku as a Commissioner into the Nasarawa State Local Government Service Commission, Lafia. As the saying goes, the reward for hard work is more work. Satisfied with his performance, the then Governor of Nasarawa State again appointed Henry John Omaku as the Chairman of Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), a position he justified by conducting one of the best and hitch free local government election in the history of the state electoral umpire. As a consummate and highly experienced new breed political socialite with a deep commitment and unravelled passion for grass root development, a generous and promising Henry John Omaku has always stood out among his contemporaries and has never allowed the trappings and grandeur of his youthfulness to stand between him and his avowed goals of lifting up the people from the shackles of poverty and underdevelopment. Driven by an almost missionary zeal in ensuring the political, economic and social liberation of his people, a steadfast Henry John Omaku has always seen his primary vocation in the socio-political arena as being one of service, duty, benevolence and charity towards his people and in this regards, he has delivered his good intentions by using available opportunities to improve the lots of his People. His Excellency, Henry John Omaku (fcim), is currently the Nigeria High Commissioner to the Republic of Sierra Leone.
