I am a grandmother who has grappled with mobility after double knee replacements. With the help and support of my friends, family, massage therapist and physiotherapist, I am exited to endeavor this run again. I am running for my granddaughter, who deals with epilepsy and a rare genetic gene disorder, and my grand niece, who was born with cleft pallet. Both have had many procedures, tests, follow-ups and stays at our awesome hospital in Saskatoon, @pattisonchildrens. Although it is not easy for me, I choose to dedicate my run (well, walk, actually) not only to these 2 beautiful girls, but to help the so many others who pass through those doors every day. They are my 2 reasons, but in our city, in our province, and in our country, there are a million reasons to support this fundraiser. This year, my daughter, granddaughter, and 2 nieces are also running (so proud of them!)". Rowan was diagnosed at 11 days old with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (WHS), an extremely rare genetic condition caused by a chromosomal abnormality. Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome causes delayed growth and development and affects many parts of the body.
