ARE YOU A "WEB DESIGNER"?

No, I don’t consider myself a “web designer.” My focus is on the code
development of the site (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP). I can design simple
layouts, but my formal training is in computer science. Usually, I’m provided
PSDs, Figma, XD, or Sketch files by a graphic designer, and I then code them out
per client spec.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD A CUSTOM WORDPRESS THEME?

That depends on the scope of the project. For instance, in most cases, an
e-commerce-ready theme will take longer to produce than an informational one.
The number of theme templates that need to be coded, user functionality, and API
integrations must be factored into the time necessary to build. The size or
number of pages/posts is secondary to that.

I usually can’t give an accurate estimate until I’ve seen mockups and have had a
conversation with the design team about required functionality and client
expectations.

It depends on your budget, but I recommend WP Engine for WordPress hosting.

A less expensive alternative, but with decent performance, is GreenGeeks.

 


WILL YOU COMMUTE AND WORK ON SITE AT OUR OFFICE?

No. I’ll attend occasional meetings (within the NYC Metro area) if necessary,
but I work from my home in Norwalk, CT, and I’m accessible via phone, email,
Slack, and Skype.


DO YOU EVER DONATE YOUR TIME AND EXPERTISE?
