MINISTER OF DIGITAL DEVELOPMENT, INNOVATIONS, AND AEROSPACE INDUSTRY OF THE
REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN JASLAN MADIEV VISITED FAI

June 10, 2024.

On June 9, our Institute was visited by the Minister of Digital Development,
Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Jaslan
Kassenovich Madiev, on a working visit. During the visit, he listened to reports
on the activities, development prospects, and problematic issues of the
Astrophysical Institute; on the computing cluster of the Astrophysical
Institute, its development prospects, and its interaction with the planned
supercomputer of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace
Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the discussion, some current
issues in the implementation of the Institute's programs and possible solutions
were voiced.

SEMINAR BY M. ISHCHENKO ON THE TOPIC: TRIUNE MODEL OF THE DYNAMIC EVOLUTION OF
THE GALACTIC CENTER ON THE COSMOLOGICAL TIME SCALE

May 13, 2024.

On May 29 at 11 a.m. in the Round Hall of the Institute there will be a seminar
by Marina Viktorovna Ishchenko (MAO NASU, FAI) on the topic: “The Triune Model
of the Dynamic Evolution of the Galactic Center on the Cosmological Time Scale”.
The seminar will be held in off-line format. FAI researchers and specialists
from other institutions working in this field are invited.



12TH KAZAKHSTAN-CHINA-KOREA (KCK) WORKSHOP

May 10, 2024.

May 20-24, 2024, the 12th Kazakhstan-China-Korea (KCK) workshop will take place
in Astana (Kazakhstan).The workshop aims to bring together experts and
researchers in the field of dynamical astronomy to explore the latest
advancements facilitated by high-performance computing, artificial intelligence,
and cutting-edge observational techniques. It will be an excellent platform for
sharing knowledge, fostering collaborations, and discussing the future
directions of research in this dynamic field. While the workshop bears the name
"Korea-China-Kazakhstan meeting," its scope and reach extend far beyond these
three countries. Researchers from any country with an interest in the topics
covered are enthusiastically welcome to participate.



A SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR WAS HELD BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE PULKOVO OBSERVATORY N.R.
IKHSANOV.

April 23, at the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute, a seminar was held by the
director of the Pulkovo Observatory, N.R. Ikhsanov, on the topic “Pulsar-like
white dwarfs in cataclysmic variables”. The report was devoted to discovering
two new sources, which, in a number of manifestations, resemble the two most
exotic representatives of the family of explosive variable stars: AE Aquarii and
AR Scorpii.



INTERNATIONAL FORUM “SPACE DAYS KAZAKHSTAN 2024”

March 26, 2024.

On June 19-20, 2024, the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry of Digital
Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry in Astana will hold the
International Forum “Space Days Kazakhstan 2024.” More than 400 representatives
from more than 50 countries and international organizations are expected to
attend the forum, which will include panel discussions on various space issues
and a Youth Space Forum.



FAI DIRECTOR DR. CHINGIS OMAROV WAS AWARDED THE ACADEMIC TITLE OF PROFESSOR

December 5, 2023.

Based on order No. 758 dated October 27, 2023, signed by the Chairman of the
Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Science and Higher Education of
the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Director of the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute Chingis Omarov was awarded the
academic title of professor.
