ABOUT THIS TRAINING COURSE

This 3 full-day advanced level course is developed and curated to showcase the
latest developments in the energy sector and impact on Oil & Gas industry. The
course curriculum also includes the analysis of recent geopolitical tensions and
market conditions due to sanctions, wars and pandemics, on the commonly used
Charter Party Forms like SUPPLYTIME, TOWCON, TOWHIRE and SHELLTIME besides Heavy
lift, Diving Support, Accommodation Services and Seismic Survey Vessels. This is
an important Course for both experienced professionals and those new to the
Support Services Vessels for Offshore Oil & Gas Exploration and Production
Industry.

This course will be held in person through a series of Case Study Style
Presentations, discussions on legal principles and interactive workshops in
groups. There will be number individual exercises to keep everyone engaged and
on their toes throughout the three days. Participants are encouraged to work on
the Cases in their own times in evening after the lectures, to get maximum
benefit of the contact hours with our Expert Consultant.

Training Objectives

After the 3-day course and workshops, it is expected that the participants would
have enhanced their knowledgebase and gained competency in one or more of the
following aspects:

 * Ability to select the most appropriate Standard Charter Party Form in context
   of the engagement.
 * Gain insights of applications of latest Maritime Conventions and MEPC
   Regulations with impact on Hire Rates and Costs of the Operations.
 * Ability to identify implications of words and phrases in pre-printed clauses
   when read in context of a specific Charter Party Agreement.
 * Competency to spot redundant and or inapplicable clauses so as to avoid
   pitfalls of unnecessary arguments in case a dispute leads to litigation.
 * Capability to transit from legacy Charter Party Forms to latest enhanced
   Charter Party Forms suitable for foreseeable nature.
 * Ability to adapt and amend critical clauses in context of specified Force
   Majeure Events, Warlike Situations, Sanctions and Currency Controls.
 * Learnings from Experiences and Pitfalls through Case Studies and bungled
   Charters in the last decade, so as to avoid similar challenges in the future.

Charterparty Managers who need to:

 * Learn to apply experiences gained from lacunas exposed in legal battles of
   commonly trusted and tested Charterparty Forms for OSVs.
 * Learn about legal principles governing future Charterparty Agreements without
   incurring legal costs.
 * Senior management personnel from Operators/Owners of OSVs, Offshore E & P
   Projects, Oil & Gas Fields, E & P Infrastructure with prior knowledge of
   Charterparty.
 * Professionals interested in drafting Charterparty Agreements for Offshore &
   Marine Industry Segments.
 * Managers, Engineers, and Professionals responsible for negotiating,
   executing, and administering short- and long-term contracts in Offshore &
   Marine Segments.

Your expert course leader, during the last 47 year period, has worked and

Pipelines, Infrastructure Development Projects (Ports, Offshore Supply Bases,
Oil & Gas Terminals and Airports etc), EPCIC Contracts, and Shipyards, in South

He serves as the Principal Management Consultant with a management consultancy
in Hong Kong and Singapore, specialising in the fields of corporate management
consultancy, international contracts reviews and alternative dispute resolutions
services. He undertakes special assignments for conducting audits and valuation
of intangible properties involving proprietary processes for licensed
production, and licensing of intellectual property rights (IP Rights) in
patents, trademarks, and industrial designs. He is frequently engaged for
assignments like due diligence, acquisitions, mergers, resolving various
operational issues, technology transfer and agency services contracts reviews,
cost controls, and enhancement of Supply Chain Management. He has been conferred
the credentials of Chartered Valuer & Appraiser (CVA) by SAC and IVAS, in
accordance with the international valuation standards setting body IVSC.

His consulting experience includes Charterparty Management, Business Process
Re-engineering, Diversifications, Corporate Development, Marketing, Complex
Project Management, Feasibility Studies, Dispute Resolutions and Market
Research.

He has successfully assisted Marine and offshore E & P clients in managing
contractual disputes arising from various international contracts for upgrading
& conversion projects. He continues to be actively engaged in claims reviews,
mediation, arbitration, litigation, and expert witness related assignments,
arising from international contracts and Charterparty Agreements.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, MBA in General
Management, Master of Technology in Knowledge Engineering, Master of Science in
Maritime Studies, and LL.M. (IP Law). He also holds professional qualifications
in Business Valuations and Appraisers for CVA, arbitration, law, and marine
engineering, including the Chief Engineer’s First-Class Certificate of
Competency (MCA, UK).

He is further qualified and accredited as Certified International Arbitrator,
Chartered Arbitrator, Sports arbitrator under CAS Rules, WIPO Neutral,
Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) Bargaining Code Arbitrator,
