Inside out: People reshaping humanitarian aid

Across the aid world, humanitarian organizations are facing urgent calls to
action to address systemic racism and dismantle colonial power structures. MSF
and other organizations have pledged to reform and do more to uphold diversity,
equity, and inclusion. But what does it mean to “decolonize aid”? How are we
working to redistribute power and center the communities we serve? How do we
build an anti-racist organization?

Join us on Thursday, June 2 for an honest discussion about how to make
meaningful change in the humanitarian aid sector. We’ll be in conversation with
an expert panel including Cica Dadjo, the chief gender, equality, diversity &
inclusion officer for the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Fezile Kanju,
the equity, diversity & inclusion (EDI) facilitator at the MSF International
Office, and Charlene Donald, the global project lead at the Positive Vibes
Trust, based in Cape Town, South Africa. The event will be moderated by Allison
Westfield James, director of strategy for diversity, equity, and inclusion at
MSF-USA.
